In reality from day one microsoft said those 4 games would be a test for how they released games going forward and their games would be ported on a case by case basis.

Xbox with dev mode and windows app store(iptv,kodi,plex emby etc) if the rumors are true that steam and more windows like content is coming to xbox next gen and sony doesnt follow suit , it might be a wrap

Once people could play with others from the comfort of the sofa it was wrap, people just didn't realize it yet. Friends bought systems to play with other friends that had the same system, exclusives were just a bonus even though playstation did its best to try to make it feel like it was the main thing.


Fast-forward to 2025 and it's expected that Sony drops these movie game cinematic experiences at least every couple years. Sadly those games cost hundreds of millions to make and years to develop and the return on investments is getting worse and worse.

Even the high even double A games aren't really trying to risk it being exclusive to a console unless they really are getting a bag.

Sony trying to lock down 3rd party exclusives will continue to get more expensive, and make less sense as the years roll by.

And if steam and Xbox end up as cool as Phil and Gabe are IRL... I don't see any other choice but PlayStation adopting steam on its console as well.

Didn't say all of them were trash. But as someone who's owned every playstation this is the worst dev cycle for the first 5 years of a gen that I've ever seen from them. Lyin got booted for a reason.

Between the two, PS5's games for the first 5 years actually scored higher. If you add the third party exclusives(at the time), it's even better for PS5 with titles such as FFVII Rebirth, Stellar Blade, FFXVI etc. Death Stranding 2 just came out and that's a 90. I think the reason folks are saying that is because Naughty Dog's factions being cancelled, Intergalactic not being out yet etc.

Also, cats are comparing the entirety of the PS4 gen of 7 years to 4 1/2 years of PS5 currently. Like, that's a good chunk still not seen yet.


Like, I can bet almost everyone saying "This gen sucks" will absolutely eat their words by the end of the gen. I don't even care about the couple of cross gen games such as GOWR or Horizon, as let's be honest most people mentioning that will not play that shyt on PS4 lol. Only thing is Naughty Dog's game not out yet. Once GTA VI drops, along with w/e Sony got for next year(probably Wolverine, Sauros and other games), I don't think the "PS5 gen is trash" folks will keep saying that as the years go by.
