Ehhh, LA is big and is very car centric. But within certain pockets, eg West Hollywood, Beverly Hills etc the floor for aesthetics is definitely higher. No two ways about it breh.I wasn't seeing it though...bro said LA/Miami makes you reassess what it is to be aesthetic...in my time there (LA), as a general statement, no, that's too strong of a statement. Now if I were to be posted up along the boardwalk where calisthenic monsters and bodybuilders flex, sure.
South Beach Miami is very different from Ft Lauderdale etc
I mentioned SF folks being fit not in a gym/lifting manner but from lifestyle. Walking, cycling, hiking etc.SF has people being "fit" from walking and thus being lighter than the middle of the country, but it wasn't a city of borderline crossfit physiques.
A lot of social activities are centered around fitness eg runs clubs.
My thing is when absolute statements are made about a city it should be immediate/inescapable. I had this same issue on here when I said I found the "LA 6 = Anywhere Else 10 woman" overblown. I shouldn't need a dozen trips or to be within a half-mile of a postal box to get it.
The peak is higher but I wasn't seeing a higher floor of fitness.
I haven’t explored LA as comprehensively as I should considering I’m here in SF so I won’t speak on that area.
But for SF, the fitness floor is definitely higher than other parts of the country. Geography, city build and weather play a big role in that.
