I just want to do local level politics. Like congressman and mayor. Highest I would go would be senate.
Like local congress in your local legislature or a congressmen for your district in the US congress? If you're just talking about the state legislature then go on then. :ehh:. Still I would recommend your pursue a Bachelor at some point, not for credentials but like someone else said, you will learn a lot about how to formulate arguments and in turn improve your interpersonal skills to make you more successful in politics.

Fam, as far as politics goes, people aren't parting with their money out of the goodness of their hearts. Sure you may get a couple dollars from "supporters," but the type of donors that will get you to the top are giving their money with the expectation that you'll do right when the time comes.

What does this even mean? :mindblown:

Again, what does this mean? :mindblown:

If you're actually serious about it, which I doubt you are, stop trying to skip rungs on the ladder and do it correctly.
Bernie Sanders took zero donor money. He got his from 27 dolla contributions. You don't need donor money to go far. Also, Tim Canova and Alan Grayson are doing the samething.

I plan to get a Bachelors in my 30's. Right now I just want something as a starter. I can be set in my 30's because I'll have my mind on straight.

If you want to get into local politics, you need a business career.

Cause if you're too stubborn to get the credentials of even a masters and you dont even have any existing political inroads, you won't get anywhere.

I know this cause I had a friend trying to run for a local seat that was open....they found out that they had to compete with not only more people who were older, but had more substantive associations like even working on certain panels or having experience working alongside people in higher positions.

You may not need a law degree, for local positions, but you definitely need experience and right now you have neither and are not on the path towards achieving anything of substance.

A lot of folks in state legislature do not make that much money and they usually do it in between their normal 9-5 jobs. So, you may find it hard to pursue a bachelor's at the same time. You'd be better off doing that first honestly.

Well, based on a popular platform that people want a politician who represents them and not donor money identity politics.
You need more than dreams.

You'll come to realize that money and power influence the decisions people make because poor people may have civil rights that are important, they don't have any stake in their community to influence the changes that they want.

!!!!

This is VERY true.

Damn near everyone in state legislature works a 9-5 cause you'll make like 30-40K and you need money outside of that just to live.

I know friends who are dentists/doctors thinking of running but need that financial security to build a base to support their local political careers.

This is something that doesn't get mentioned a lot.

It's not stubbornness I just don't have it in me to do 8 years of schooling to get a masters. Plus, I just want to get into the field. It's a lot of things I want to do. Like Fitness training and reserves. However, I do like politics and helping people.
