The thing that killed me about the whole thing is how she comes in as a black woman with her best professor voice while talking about this. The video is well produced though and nobody in the thread has said it. I’m tired of being tied to bullshyt like this all the time though.

Didn't watch the vid, but blaccent is definitely a thing. My thing is, does it come from an authentic place and is it caricaturizing the accent?

Paul Wall for instance could be argued having a blaccent, but it seems authentically him. Akwafina does her voice for comedic effect, which wouldn't be an issue if she didn't do it all the time.

Personally, I don't think Elvis has a blaccent. His shyt just sounds goofy, like he was trying to be 1950's/1960's cool. I can't recall anyone black historically who sounds remotely like him.
