I don't know why black brits do this?
Jealous of our visibility?
Let's keep it 100% real: Caribbean culture was already influenced by AA culture BEFORE the "windrush"
Just like "new era" West African culture.
Grime is DRILL now, and it used to Be MORE* electronic sounding.
We invented breakbeat culture.
We invented house, disco, techno.
Without these components? You don't have modern Afro British OR British Caribbean music.
We were doing "tracksuits" in the 80s and early 90s, brehs.
We invented the R&B, Rock, and Jazz that became the base for Rocksteady, and THEN y'all slowed the tempo down to KEEP UP WITH SOUL, threw a lil taste of "mento" in it, and created Reggae. Reggae is derivative. Electronic dancehall was a Casio preset. :mjlol:
High Life? Oh, you mean repurposed American R&B x Big Band? Welcome to the fukking 20s brehs.
Aftobeats? THE SAME APPLIES, and y'all nikkas still use the new slang.
Canadians, knock it the fukk off. nikkas up here frauding like they're from the US "styll", some young nikka at the barbershop and broads been telling me this.
The fukk kind of "identity" is that?
I fukk with the contributions but they're derivative.
nikkas on here soaking up the sauce and talking shyt at the same time, super corny...y'all home countries AND new country influenced BY US.
:birdman:
Every few months one of these UK nikkas makes the "omg so much better than American rappers" on some "Hey, we exist" shyt. Stop being cheeky lil goofballs up here knife fighting like the fags from the "beat it" video.
Oh you "do road" but it's to a drill beat and you looking for "opps"
:jbhmm:
Bay area nikkas like Joe Blow going on tour, putting EXTRA sauce in the game, got them brummies talmbat "IT'S THE MOB!":damn:

and I like y'all's lil raps, stop all this nonsense. That nikka CS go hard, Remtrex, all those Gunchester nikkas, even the old Gooch Loc shyt w/ Vapz and Bija...shyt from like 2005, when I started listening to Grime.
It's 44 million nikkas influencing the world, you not selling "us" back to "us".
"Ohhhh get a passport"
I been had one, unimpressed.
:umad:

:wow:

Breh u be going in on these nikkas:mjlol:

That ether when the "americans need to travel gimmick" doesnt fly

Let's not forget about garage:
An "apu inclusive" version of ATL RNBass with less hi hats and a delayed snare, minus the church choir singing skills and energy.
Just listen to "the way we freak" by Artik...add claps and an 808, plus racing hats: it's a bass song about a decade late.
:scust: trying to be KP and Envyi over gameboy bgm

There are waaay more of us. Their music is DERIVED from ours, so...yes, I'll make comments.
People up here fake like they're AA to get hoes, because nobody cares about islands.
We are not no lil islands. We are us.
They can keep that lame shyt to themselves.
I remember an old article of some weak ass hoe up here complaining about a Jill Scott show because she was talmbat soul food and some fukk ass callaloo.
We ain't gotta accomodate shyt.
They also do that shyt in Asia. :mjlol:

I retired from this diaspora war BS as its pointless. But srsly what do these Black Brits want with us?? lol.

It's Londoners being big fish thinking they're taking up as much space of the big pond as they did the old small one. Tbh I'm surprised they haven't clocked onto how Americanised they can be. Like they play NFL at Wembley as if we (the nation) could give a shyt

At the end of the day, if you have to talk ish about one culture to build yours up, then you are losing. They reason why so many other blacks come for African Americans is because our influence is all over the world and they want that spot. African American culture doesn't have to prove anything because the proof is all over the world.
Your culture is all over the world now but so is Jamaicas if you are talking about the most influential in the diaspora amongst other Blacks and the world. Jamaicans are major. AA influence in Africa has only in recent decades become as big as Jamaican influence has been. I don't know why brehs discredit that. African brehs was making reggae way long before they tried to rap and current waves of music are more heavily influenced by Jamaica outside South Africas house movement. The same was true fashion wise for a long time. So I wouldn't say Jamaicans are jealous of Americans or want their spot they are the primary influencers of Black Brits again up until relatively recently.

actually you forgot English .... and if you actually paid any attention you would understand that black britsh culture is a mixture of cultures that the immigrants brought plus that of the host country

That is the culture , what is it you dont get or understand????

dudes in here getting upset for God knows why...
I mean guess, I grew up in boston, we probably got the biggest combination of west Indians and Africans outside of new York. to me everything yall do is
just a remixed version of what New England does except with a British accent. everything yall do we literally did before yall
