Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Which one, dikkhead, there are like 20...
New York?
New Orleans?
Baltimore?
STL?
Memphis?
DC
Bay area?
SoFlo?
Houston?
Black Boston?
Black Cleveland?
Cinci?
Detroit?
Chicago?
Philly?
Atl?
Pittsburgh?
Vs that universal Bobby's World X Jamaican "maple mandem" shyt that sounds the same from Tdot to MTL?
Or how about that Yardie Austin Powers shyt in London?
Or the nikkas in Leeds, sounding like FAT b*stard mixed with Shabba Ranks?
Shut up.

There’s a stereotype that Europeans only think America is New York City and Los Angeles so it wouldn’t be shocking to me if the accent they found to be funny and bad is the southern accent since southern accents are associated with hillbillies and hicks.

lol.... actually its Americans that have an inferiority complex and your post highlights it ..... lol

Americans seem to think that the world starts and ends with them and any indication it doesnt seems to make them furious ...

difference between Americans and British is simple... black british people embrace other cultures because they arent insecure about their own...

lots of black british slang originated in jamaica and a lot of it didnt .... difference is unlike you Yanks Black British people dont care, we arent on the divide nonsense that you guys are into ..... just as many Africans listen to dancehall as carribeans listen to Afrobeat

Thats why I always preferred the UK even though I was born stateside ..... Americans (of all colours) are generally too closed minded and insular for my liking .....

This post is one giant ass reach. lol.

They were making funk and jazz around the same time
Yes they were but it wasn't the dominant sound. Just like y'all have a street sound here there is a similar vibe on the continent and that wave has mostly been Jamaican for the better part of modern times... I grew up a hip hop fan in Africa and I was an outcast breh most people were only doing reggae and dancehall and even today most of what you would consider the street sound is dancehall, R&B was bigger than hip hop and of course pop acts like Michael Jackson. hip hop is considered higher class... so you find the more well to do folks are rap heads but the average brehs are more in tune with Jamaican culture down to emulating slang

Primary influence on culture up until the 2000's was Jamaica and that's a fact you hear it in the slang and you saw it in the music. The transition happened when rap became more accessible that's why I say the influence switch over is relative recent. brehs in canada never used to say nikka like the kids do now.

This has been going on for a minute and it's usually "uk breh(ette) grandstanding and trying to get a reaction from big bro"
They remain unseen otherwise.

Jamaican music is influenced by AAs, from start to now.
Same with West African.
You know we created way more than rap, right?
Without us, there is no Coxsone Dodd.

:yeshrug:it deadass sounds like dancehall/bashment mixed with 2step that's slowed down, they both start at 90 bpm. can't say it's afrobeat because afrobeat starts at 120 bpm.

That's afrobashment you're talking about. Afroswing is a little different than afrobashment. People sometimes confuse the two.

This is what you're talking about, closer to dancehall/bashment.

Afroswing on the other hand sounds more like this.
