I got into an argument a week ago with some Uk breh on here over this exact same shyt. :snoop:

Aside from the terrible hook:scust:

Just seeing Americans wearing XXXL baggy clothes is hilarious to me. :dead:

Now you bumpkin niccaz is copying my style with the fitted clothes. :mjlol:

You lot are so goofy.

Oh word, another idiot who wants to act like the UK has better fashion sense than America? That’s why y’all hypebeasts have been stealing our swag for decades? Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton ripping off our blues artists to modern day fuccbois from Manchester wearing northwest/Columbia rain gear and supreme bucket hats? You bland pale, nothings. Go put on some Burberry and set yourself on fire, fukkin chav.

What the fukk has your country ever put out? You’re so wack, we took your entire language and flipped that shyt so people around the world speak English and sound like they’re from Hollywood - because nobody wants to be associated with elitist twats with bad teeth who spend all their time drinking tea, worshiping an octogenerin c*nt, and generally not producing anything culturally relevant while misappropriating American music and fashion.
fukking drill music (shyt rap) and britpop (shyt rock). Your entire culture is ours after getting hit with a brick and spat out by Mary poppins.

Go choke on a crumpet. Chip chip Cheerio, you fukkin’ bytch

Your culture is all over the world now but so is Jamaicas if you are talking about the most influential in the diaspora amongst other Blacks and the world. Jamaicans are major. AA influence in Africa has only in recent decades become as big as Jamaican influence has been. I don't know why brehs discredit that. African brehs was making reggae way long before they tried to rap and current waves of music are more heavily influenced by Jamaica outside South Africas house movement. The same was true fashion wise for a long time. So I wouldn't say Jamaicans are jealous of Americans or want their spot they are the primary influencers of Black Brits again up until relatively recently.
This is all destroyed by FELA KUTI. And the afram influence on early afrobeats

Come see for yourselves

We have a rich culture that does export well, but not well known for it. Probably fashion is our key thing (bags to the side, Nike tech tracksuits, etc) music too, the rise in Afro-pop is partially for the input the UK have had

I like BB culture as it’s from first and second generation African and Caribbean and also includes British culture and most of us are relatively proud of being from our bits and still proud to rep that Union Jack
This dumb motherfukker is really trying to claim Nike as UK culture :snoop:

This is my point. Your culture is jacking American culture and then acting like you invented the shyt.

I live 15 minutes away from the Nike headquarters - you live fukking thousands of miles. Nike put out track suits because the University of Oregon... ran a lot of track! Shocking. Then y'all started wearing them and looking like wannabe Russian mafia :mjlol:

Your culture is fukking crumpets, jellied eels, and bowler hats. Your cultural exports are Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand.

Popular british black culture is a mixture of imported jamaican culture and appropriated/imported afram culture (even the british whites jack heavily from black america...see british invasion)). More recently you've had a more direct continental african influence through afrobeatz.

That's not true at all if you're not counting the parents. I've been to the UK numerous times having family there and i can tell you Africans and West Indians have good relations. My cousins used to run heavily with Jamaicans growing up. :russ:

Hell, Africans used to pretend to be Jamaicans(and still using Jamaican slang even today) not even 15 years ago. Ofc that's not the case anymore once African music and culture blew up the past few years.

Lol yeah growing up they were called Jafacians lol

Still have not visited yet. Do they all live in the same areas generally?

so when does best album mean biggest artist ???

because from my knowledge Tupac doesnt have a grammy ???

youre talking out of your backside now

He is though lol

Unless you follow UK rap, your average person wouldnt know who Giggs is. His bjggest and most known track is still "Talkin da Hardest" which was just a freestyle on a mixtape and again your average person wouldnt have heard that. But nothing has come close in terms of how big that was for him.

Whereas Stormzy is huge and known all over the UK.

On the biggest mainstream TV shows regulary, even as recent as last week.

His songs used for many adverts and parodies made of his songs again by mainstream tv shows and comedians

Dating the one of the most popular TV personalities

And like mentioned to you won countless national awards.

Been listening to Giggs since mixtape days about 10 years ago, so im a fan but he isnt on Stormzy levels. Ask your average person and they think Ryan

Jamaican music is influenced by AAs, from start to now.
Same with West African.
You know we created way more than rap, right?
Without us, there is no Coxsone Dodd.
I know there was more than rap breh I used rap because it has permeated a lot more than soul or funk ever did. Back then there was still a lot of ethnic and tribal music stylings now a lot of the music is derivative or American or Caribbean genres...
