Define black as a culture and nationality. .
Then we can go from there..
Then we can go from there..
Funny how over time Islam has become the black man's religion and Christianity the white man's yet neither is true. They both originated from the same place. Why people continue to spew this nonsense is beyond me
Africa is fukking huge and not monolithic. And there were religions/beliefs before the Egyptian ones (which is only a small part of the continent).
Just regular Youtube videos for now. But I gotta say that Orisha REALLY influenced us diasporian blacks.Naw I'm Igbo. But i'm about to do some research on the Orisha system as well. Any good sources you've come across regarding the Orisha religion?
Fact 1:
Some slaves taken over were Muslim but most were not. Highest proportion of African Americans are from Angola. Then Senegambia is next, I believe.
As always this thread is just full of baseless assertions, racism, cringeworthy ignorance, and of course the trademark coli view of blacks as some united and monolithic entity. fukking ignorant clowns

From Cuba, Brazil, Haiti(to an extent), Dominican Rep, Jamaica(to an extent), Louisiana culture(to an extent), etc, etc. Orisha is my second most favorite indignous African religion after ancient Nile Valley religions. Heck some say the two are similar.
Anyways what I like most about Orisha culture/religion is the colorful clothing, especially by the women who dance for the Orisha "Yemaya."

Btw what is Igbo religion like?
I almost sure this is Nigeria.
.
Wha? White people have even hijacked Christianity as their own, even though it had nothing to do with them.
If you have a Bible then read the Acts of the Apostles, 8:26-40
Here is a hint. It doesn't involve a Cac, but it is Christianity. It involves these folks:

Ethiopia: The First Christian Nation?
Doesn't look like a peer-reviwed source. Most peer-reviewed studies on African-American studies I read show them coming from Nigeria. Plus slaves were later banned from Angola due to constant rebellion.
