Yeah as great as MJ was, he wasn't anything we haven't seen before or since stylistically....just the absolute best of that mold - the 6'5"-6'7" athletic swingman.

Grant Hill is the obvious one..................Grant was given the alpha role but was more suited to be an all around secondary/complementary player like Pippen.

Pippen descends from the Sidney Moncrief/Paul Pressey tree though.
Don Nelson created the point forward position with those Bucks teams.
John Havlicek started the Moncrief/Pippen family tree. He was a very good athlete for a cac, 5x defensive 2st team and 3x defennsive 3rd team. Perhaps the original point forward, he was also a great passer

thanks, interesting point.....not sure that I agree.
I know havlicek for his durability and long playing career , so I have to go back and examine how the team used him
