Ok let's say there are two candidates and both are corrupt and there is no 3rd party at this time for whatever fictional reason.
So you have only two choices, voting for the corrupt or our perception of the lesser evil and the other choice is to not vote at all.

Where do we stand on this?
I would love the Coli to have a poll so we can measure this, I will make the poll anonymous.

Thoughts?

Much better to not vote. It would be one thing if there were a cap on the bounds such corruption would go, but when you live in a society which incrementally pushes societal degeneracy, you owe it to future generations to de-legitimize and circumvent said corruption.

You always lose the game you don’t play.

This is why during the election I’ve always said if you vote for Jill stein nationally or something, still vote because local politics are probably going affect you more actually. Also it’s a case where your vote feels like it really count. Look at the state house race in VA where it’s hinging on literally one vote. It’s also why I’ve always disagreed with people who want to blame Ron Paul, nader, stein, Gary Johnson ,etc because the mainstream candidate loss. More choices is a more healthy democracy.

Also local races are where average people can actually participate. If you’re unhappy with your local politicians it’s not a Herculean effort to encourage someone to run who represents your interest or run yourself.

Anything else is laziness

the black cat is my crown...
decisions will be made affecting my life whether i choose to participate in that decision making process or not.... me refusing to vote does not mean decisions won't be made, it just means no one has to listen to my voice in the matter....politicians, know it or not, prefer fewer people vote... the less people involved in the decision making process the more beneficial the process is to politicians.... even if neither choice is optimal for me, i'd rather make the better choice than let the worse choice be made for me..... plus, if i put you in office you have to answer to me... you fukk up, i don't vote for you next time.... politicians have no incentive to listen to people that don't vote... in fact, as i said, they prefer fewer people vote.. that way they have fewer people to have to listen to.....

Not voting just because your ideal candidate isn't running is the definition of hustling backwards, especially when the result will affect you anyway.

It doesn't give you any moral high ground, you're essentially just giving up your say in the matter.

Ideal?
So thats your bar?
Not corrupt is ideal?
I am not a socialist but preferred Sanders over Trump.
Sanders was not ideal to me.

Your bar is so low, & you only see extremes. Either corrupt or ideal, wow!

Kind of seems like you made up your mind before you made the thread :yeshrug:

Dude always asks a lot of questions, but never gives an input then selectively responds to posts that allows him to push his narrative.

Breh this thread is not about a solution, it's more about the problem.
And you are right, I am always asking questions, but look at everyone else, no one else is asking questions.
You ask for a solution but tell me, how can we find a solution when none of us agree on the problem?
I've been a programmer for years man, first I must define the problem and only then can I start programming the solution.
Imagine if a team of programmers all disagreed with each other on what the problem was in a project, how do you think the code would end up looking like?

in fact, as i said, they prefer fewer people vote.. that way they have fewer people to have to listen to.....

Unless nobody voted for the corrupt.
I know I said in given situation no 3rd party but I am just saying.

People care more about winning & partisanship then voting for the right person.

i voted.
but OP you could have just written your rant about how you feel
and then tagged like minded posters.
just thread title "i didnt vote and dont tell me i should have because the choices were the same to me"

:yeshrug:
anybody at this point who insists that "both parties are the same"
"she was just as bad as him"

should take a minute away from patting yourself on the back and research contributing to
some free health clinics, some homeless shelters and some food pantries/soup kitchens.
you know since real people are and will be suffering, but yall and susan sarandon can feel
smug.

This is not how you properly scope a project. :francis:
