The answer will NEVER be Xbox over NES. Xbox owes it's existence to Dreamcast.

Sega partnered with MICROSOFT to bring there system to the online world where PC's already dwelled
The Xbox was Microsofts first move into the console space, but ultimately that was to get them to where they are NOW
Sega was just a gaming company, Microsoft wanted to bring that mojo over to the PC space and thats why there is an xbox today

Sega was the founder of none of that bruh They just had "games" and was willing to do business

The nintendo system changed the world. Sega master didnt get there nor did Turbo G.

Genesis and SNES were the other two changing platforms that EVERYONE HAD TO HAVE.

Atari 2600. The developers, hardware engineers, companies from that era and lessons learned ran the console and PC gaming industry for decades after including the NES. Also the first mass market system.

I'd have to say the genesis maybe. It showed games weren't just for kids and broke Nintendo's monopoly hold on the home video game market. Paved the way for Sony and MS and other companies to be willing to jump in the game and bring innovation and creativity to the market.

I'd say NES changed the old school game and Dreamcast was the leader of the new school.

The PlayStation 1 and 2 is important for a lot of reasons but the most important reason, to me, is that it blew the whole fukking video game market up. It disrupted the market and bought about a new order.

XBOX/360 don't get enough credit for innovating the social media merger with videogames.
