no doubt, but I said streamlined. Microsoft mandated an Ethernet port and the community got on board, while the rest didn't.

if we going by that logic x band did it before anyone. Without it, consoles would be in a very different place now.

It's not just the Internet. It's not just the Web browser. It's the controller. Button layout. Even down to the games. 2K, Shenmue. Jet Set Radio, Sonic Adventure. all that shyt was launched with the OG Xbox. If it wasn't for Dreamcast. Xbox would've been Nintendo status with the sports games. The button scheme would've been different. The controller layout would've been different. We prolly never get Xbox Live. And most of all. shyt prolly would've failed in the games department if Sega wasn't just handing the IPs. This is why I said there's 4 consoles that are the most important in the history of gaming.
Nes - Single most important console being that it saved the video game industry.
SNES - set a crazy standard with high quality and innovative games with unmatched 3rd party support at the time. Also revolutionized the console controller. Consoles use it's controller layout till this day.
PS2 - made a console a home entertainment system. With DVD support and an unmatched and diverse game library. Also the highest selling console to date.
Dreamcast - 2K games, Internet capability, Web browser. Ultimately the console that influenced Xbox to be what it is today. Ahead of its time in damn near every way.
