Idk shyt about cars. I look at it like this: if you drive a regular or small size suv, use regular. If you drive full-size suvs and trucks, use plus. If you drive a sports car or v8 use premium. That's my logic yet I drive 2012 v6 Kia sorento and I still use premium :youngsabo:

i just realized why my old car was going through so much oil. :ohhh:
i was putting premium gas in a rebuilt engine thinking I was doing it a favor.
meanwhile i made it work harder with the high octane and use oil like whoa to the point the rebuilt engine died :mjcry:

I'm going to use 87/89 until I get a new Navigator or Escalade next year.

not a smart logic bc there are sports cars that are under $30,000 and can run fine on regular.
Premium would do that type engine damage

the way i see it, we're not racing and the car isnt always above 80mph every day... so regular is fine.
most honda dealerships want you to use regular anyway. i think theres a reason.
maybe the higher octane would do long term damage. :yeshrug:

Premium fuel actually gives you a more complete burn in the cylinder so your car isn't working harder it's working more efficiently.

I have a 04 Hemi Ram and a 95 Caprice that are TUNED to burn premium. The Hemi is supposed to burn mid grade and the Caprice is supposed to burn regular but I wanted more performance.

My mileage actually went up because of the extra power I didn't need to hit the accelerator as hard as before.

If you are driving anything less than a high-end German or British made car, you're wasting money putting in premium. All cars now a days are designed to run anything 87 and higher. There could be times when you can't get premium, so the car's computers will compensate.

Edit: or any high performance car...the extra octane will give max power

wrong. Idgas about Kia and what their manual says. I know my baby and I can feel how she reacts when I out dat supreme chevron in her. and because of this, she has rewarded me by plowing through 4 ft of snow ridden roads, climbs steep hills on mountain terrain - I'm a cac and I go camping sometimes - and even beat out a Lamborghini, McLaren and Nissan skyline in a freeway race. I know what she wants, and I make sure shes never goes past half tank.
