Top 7 in South America.:gucci: Of course they have talent in S.A but some of those leagues are broke as shyt, have trouble playing players, and only a few teams have decent stadiums and facilities. MLS is G-League/Championship(england 2nd division) level but from top to bottom -stadiums, facilities, and overall financially above water its a good league that's getting better. Hopefully salaries will keep increasing and they can add more talent.
Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and fukk it let's say Uruguay all have pro teams that would smash on MLS sides with a day's notice bruh. I personally know some MLS players that were stars in their day and they are all south american and played in the US, not for no reason

2nd Division in England as in the Championship, or actually League 2? I'd say it's right in between around League 1, with the bad teams being unfit to even train in Europe

facilities are a lot better but there's just a lot more money in the states than most countries, plus public financing is not possible in a lot of places, as it shouldn't be here either but that's another issue.

MLS is a horribly run league, as well, it's not just a lack of talent as much as it is US Soccer and the league itself being run by inward-thinking idiots

Seems like it would be difficult to maintain a championship level team if your best players are always looking for a better league.
this is every team not in England, Germany, Spain, and Italy, and maybe France tho. it's about academies and infrastructure, which the US is still figuring out after stumbling around in the dark for 20 years

It's gotten better,

I'll say it's no longer a retirement league but a feeder league to Europe.

But the MLS rise has done more damage than good for the actually US national team

if they stopped running the league with the same bullshyt like the nba, nfl, mlb; this league would thrive.

No cap salary, and it’s leaping ahead of Liga MX. I honestly hate Liga MX as well because they’re copying the US with it’s stupid draft :heh:

I agree with this but I thought we were talking about leagues overall and not just individual teams.

-The MLS is what it is at this point. Its a feeder league, still young, and has things to work out of course but the leagues elsewhere have 100 year jump start. Its improving. And yes Europe is the place to be for soccer/football:yeshrug:It is what it is

How many leaguea have 5’3 120 lb men who can survive?

Maximiliano Moralez
worldwide? plenty. that's not a knock on the league, only his skill level is

i'd rather be his size than his:

Every country needs a home league to fall back on though

I was always luke warm on pro/rel and moving to a euro calendar. Still don't think they should move to a euro calendar, but pro/rel is absolutely needed

the mid table clubs in those countries would probably run a lot of top MLS sides at this point in time. that's my criteria for judging the leagues here

agreed on your second point. I'd love MLS to be a top league, and i've been a fan since 96 when it started, but its upward trajectory is not as sharp or fast as some would like to think it is

Won't happen for many many years. These owners aren't trying to spend millions to start a team and build a stadium only to have them relegated after 2 years to playing in USL with next to zero fanbase and no tv contracts.

With that said I'd love for Pro/Reg in this country. Just feel like the sport needs to grow another 25 years before it could happen.

Wish the salary cap would either go away or be tripled to bring in even more quality players from around the world.

G League may be an adequate comparison. I'd say MLS is somewhere between the 7th-10th best soccer league in the world.

:dahell:

We got (in no particular order)

La Liga, EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Premiera Liga, Eredivisie, Russian PL.

That alone is 8 and we haven't even covered the rest of Europe or Latin America.

MLS isn't an easy league to be in. Tons of travel, weather extremes, altitude, refs are horrible, artificial pitches - this should have impact on where you rank the league.

These factors alone will influence where you rank it. If it's based purely on skill, yes, they aren't there.
