But the MLS rise has done more damage than good for the actually US national team

This makes no sense. It's better to go back to the days when leagues were fads and they were trying to compete internationally with guys playing indoor soccer? FOH.

Every country needs a home league to fall back on though
The point I was trying to make with that statement was that MLS has done more for other Conacaf nation than the US cause it gives them a step up in competition but for the top US players it's a step down. Look at Jozy and Bradley for example, both took the big money and there play has suffer since and that translate to the US struggling then ultimately not qualifying for the WC

Klinsman was right about the MLS being no good for the national team but them cacs all offended a German called there league shytty.

I still hope the MLS improves to help the game grow here but let's not kid ourself that this league is on par with the main European leagues.

MLS isn't an easy league to be in. Tons of travel, weather extremes, altitude, refs are horrible, artificial pitches - this should have impact on where you rank the league.

These factors alone will influence where you rank it. If it's based purely on skill, yes, they aren't there.
my breh tez out here spinnin with the best of em :ohlawd:

Its retarded

They try to run the MLS like your typical American league and it hurts em. There shouldn’t be conferences, there shouldn’t be a playoff, there should be a promotion/relegation system. The league format is even shyt.
Agreed, agreed, agreed with very dumb. Let me add, the drafts are stupid as well.

Agree with conacaf teams improving from playing in MLS but Klinsman was a shyt coach. He didn't do shyt but run his mouth and bring in some Germans with American bloodlines. Heard he really didn't even coach either. Jozy, Deuce, and Bradley had to take that last big payday before their careers were winding down, they just shouldn't have been on the national team.

I was always luke warm on pro/rel and moving to a euro calendar. Still don't think they should move to a euro calendar, but pro/rel is absolutely needed
The only way they go to a Euro calendar is if/when the nfl no longer exists. They could do it now and play games on Saturday but they would lose to college football right now.

And I agree that jurgen was a shyt coach who somehow overachieved in 2014.
But I wished he stayed as that director because he was the first one to say the real talent for the US is the inner city kids and the top talents of the youth need to grind it out in Europe

Skills wise its trash. U can litterally see our trash ass development system on display thru MLS. League wise, its top 20 only because the country its in has paper to spend. I expect MLS to grow towards serie A/bundesliga typs of league in the next 10 to 20 years

My dude.....I never saw a soccer player that small in my life

He played in Serie A and in Argentina for more than a few years, so he clearly has had talent.

That is ridiculous. Making the rest of concacaf better is a good thing because it will make these players stop sleepwalking through game which has been a problem for a long time. Competition keeps you sharp.

Its shyt. Prolly somewhere between 20-30th in the world.

This is the first true answer to this question. Most of the league struggles to connect 4 or 5 passes in a row.

And the people running it make moves like it's the new NFL or some shyt. If they accepted being a feeder league for higher profile leagues and played younger talent they'd be a lot better off. They don't have a high enough profile to move a well supported team from Columbus to Austin like they're doing and they're doing it anyway.
