Oooh, that’s why you got so uptight over my comments. Don’t worry breh, no one’s trying to stop you being “one of the good ones” amongst your co-workers. :hubie:
Black contractor laid me off due to a bad apprentice evaluation. Said I wasn’t a dependable worker. Never was paid on time :manny:

Cac contractor I been working steady the past 8 months, Check hits my account every Thursday. Last month I was evaluated, commented “one of the most hard working apprentices I’ve had”

Call me a c00n but all I care bout is my pension and benefits:russell: Im all for black businesses but I got bills and shyt too like everyone else

You’d have the same energy if one of the handful of black companies told you to go fukk yourself and the rest of em don’t get back to you with applications

Yes..... when you get to a point where you spend more time with the people in your workplace than your family and friends. fukk it.

I’ve always had “friends” at everywhere I been at except my current place. And that’s only cuz I don’t have many people to relate with as I’m like for one the only black dude in my department and the majority of everyone else are younger white females.

Within the company though, everyone is cool and I keep it loose and cordial cuz ain’t no one trynna be somewhere where you miserable and beefing with someone and gotta watch your neck.

My company no one is cutthroat at each other cuz for the most part everyone has their own specific lane and position they play

What the hell, I'm only here to collect paychecks and gain experience in my field... Like I need any more friends

This one dude I work with got legit heated cause I'm not too eager to be buddy buddy with him :dahell:

I'm not even the aloof type. I'm friendly, I say hello and shyt to everyone. I just rather learn as much as I can at work, and perfect my skills

Everytime I look at and play with my phone, he gets offended :dead:

The job itself is way more interesting than my coworkers to be honest
In so many ways I let a nikka know I will take they bytch if they want to be my friend. Watch how fast a nikka fall back when he thinks he gotta compete with you for p*ssy.

I'm not against it I guess but when looking for a job I'm looking at how I advance my career and actually doing my work tbh. I feel like when people are (extroverted and white folk do it the most) look for a friendship to form at work immediately is where the issue starts.

This thread has changed my perspective a bit. It's hard because as a young man, we don't give a shut about nothing but the bread, unless we talking about actual career

I'm generally the type to get the work done, get paid and move on, I wish I could read my studf during break time

The quicker i complete my task, the quicker I can get out of there. No shorty, I don’t care what you and your kids did over the weekend.

I work in a office with 2 multi millionaires and them old heads are cranky as hell. I’m like you got bread from stocks splitting years ago why are you still here? Just bounce already.

I don't have a job, I have a career :yeshrug:

I see these motherfukkers well over 40 a week,
It ain't cut throat like a job where there are different positions and opening and shyt, we are all here, we all get paid the same, there's not really any where to go, I'm not going to go into detail but the next highest levels require public approval votes and shyt....it's....anyway....

I only really like 2 of the people I work with, the rest are just regular people with regular problems and we just don't have much in common, or the things we do have in common are surpassed by the bigger things we don't have in common.

shyts like high school. For real for real.

A male coworker of mine was emailing a female coworker and they were talking shyt about another coworker who's female and he was calling her fat....I don't know how she ended up being sent, he accidently cc'd her or some shyt. I still say he cc'd her on purpose on some fukk you shyt. But yeah shyt hit the fan.

I had to tell a couple Co workers straight up "I don't fukk with you. If it's about the job, what we need to do, I'm with you 100%, you have my time, cooperation, etc. Outside of that, there's nothing, no good morning, no how's it going..nothing. With respect to you and yours, do you and ima do me."

I dont hang with coworkers much because my field is mostly rooted in white culture. Im in advertising and marketing and work at an agency. But because they are private entities they can hire off "cultural fit".

I'm in a bball league with some, hoop during the week with em too during lunch, i go to vendor lunches and dinner w/ em and have happy hour from time to time, but other than that i steer clear and they always seem to be super curious about what my life is like lol.

At the end of the day, the smart move is to make friends because you never know where ppl will end up. I had a girl I worked with just move to NY and is on the Louis Vuitton, Hermes account. Another chick That just started was over draft kings. Those contacts are precious when its time to move on.
