When lifting heavy, full body workouts have you feeling DEAD...and personally, I can't get the best/heaviest reps on multiple compound lifts like I can on split days...

If I had to go twice a week, I would do something like back/chest, then shoulders/legs..sprinkle in arms and cardio when I can.

Missed this post. Some form of this would be the best alternative if you're pressed for time. A pull-push plan would also be more suitable than a full body workout. Doing full body workouts when you starting up is counter-productive to getting technique, intensity and proper-regularity of muscle movement down pat.

Yes, I am sure.

What exactly do you mean by this? Cause it makes lil' sense.

its kinda been said in here already now but somebody would say a full body isnt a good idea because an individual who doesnt have the experience for whatever reason can easily over work themselves and you said it yourself sacrifice form leading to strain and possibly into an injury making it a bad idea but you can be a beginner and do full body contrary to beliefs

imo from what i see and hear and have been around its about as taboo as thinking pullups/pushups type of workouts arent as effective as weight lifting workouts and have no real benefit compared to going to the gym strictly in a bro science type of way to the average head

Calisthenics have lil' correlation to full body workouts (outside of the obvious).

This is why full body workouts aren't the best solution when you can't manage split days. Whether you're doing a multitude of compounds or curls/pulldowns/shoulder press/db press/leg press etc etc you can't get the proper technique, intensity and proper-regularity of muscle movement down pat (like I previously said) and you won't be able to build your body on an even level (as much as you possibly can), simply because your body won't be able to manage it. The people you speak of who don't do full body workouts because 'they can't do it without killing themselves and therefore think it's a bad idea' are exactly right. It is a bad idea. On many levels.

I mean if one isn't familiar/confident on how to do certain exercises, then a 2-3 week plan of getting your technique and body use to the movements (light weights); a full body workout (if you could even call it that) is fine but anything in excess of that really isn't.

My point is people that don't swear by full body workouts isn't the same as people shytting on callisthenics as a great exercise.

Naw, I'm saying that full body workouts are bad because there's a better way to do things if you're pressed for time. But really this is all depends on what folk deem a full-body workout.

front / back squat
bench / overhead press
dead lift or barbell rows

Never been any more symmetrical in my life bro...

But than again, I Incorporate calisthenics and a few other exercises into my routine...

You do all those exercises in one sitting - multiple times a week?

Yeah about 2-4 times a week.

It's not for everyone though.

For example here's a typical night for me:
warm-up stretches

1. 3x15 calisthenics lunges (normal)

2. 2x10 calisthenics lunges (transverse plane)

3. 2-3x pull-ups

4. Squats (front / back) depending on how I feel

5. Overhead press / Clean (alternate between sets)

5b(optional). Bench press I'm not a big fan of benching, but I'll randomly do a couple sets of 225...depending on how I feel...

6. calisthenics tricep dips 3-4x

7. tricep pulldowns 3x

8. pull-ups subsetted with resistant pushups on medicine ball 3x :ohlawd:

9. DL or barbell rows...

It's weird I do a modified version of SL. Interestingly enough, it takes me less 45 minutes to complete this regime. I plan my workouts away from prime time hours. When I leave the gym I'm not particularly sore either, nor morning after. I'm immune to soreness :win:
