I know it's pretty early in the morning to be talking about canned fish but I recently received an order of canned mackerel which is my favorite type of canned shelf stable fish but I'm contemplating on whether I should give herring/kipper a shot.

Sardines is a hell no for me 🤮 I could never get past the smell and I remember one of uncles would always come to my parents house and would always have a can on hand stashed in his pocket and just start going to town on it.

I like Tuna, preferably yellowfin in extra virgin olive oil but Albacore isn't bad either.

Salmon is pretty good too, sometimes.

Mackerel is my #1 tho.

Yeah I know fresh seafood is always better (in most cases) but I like to keep these things stocked up to be eaten on the go 🤷🏾‍♂️.

These are some of my go-to brands:

How do ya'll eat these? Curious about preparation.

growing up my mom had tuna stocked always, but she either made tuna sandwiches or sometimes she would fry up some tuna patties.
I didn't hate it, but it wasn't a tradition i continued when i was grown.
