What Made You Turn Away From A Life Of Crime/Street Life?

This applies to the brehs and brehettes who were once about that life, but chose a better path

Who influenced you to turn away from a life of crime? Was it a mentor or knowing someone who got shot? Because I know there's some brehs on here that were once in the street, but diverted away from that life. Also, I know some saw the condition of our people and wanted to make a change to help them. Especially, our youth and I've read articles on that.



This applies to BOTH teenage and adulthood

I wasn't in the street like that, but knew cats who got killed (associates with them). However, by the time I got 14 I'll say that I wanted to stay on the righteous path

I understood there’s no way out. I didn’t want to break my parents heart by being in jail with football numbers, or worse, in the dirt. After a certain age my outlook changed. Life is coming together well.

The fear of angering my parents coupled with the fact that I never felt safe doing anything illegal back then when I was younger to the point where I was risking jail time.

Had a few friends and my cousins who hustled weed but I'm so I stick out like a sore thumb so I never pushed for it.

Plus I lived a middle middle class life so it ain't like I needed to be out doing that shyt anyways so I just hustled on the sly and made money off camera as opposed to being in the spotlight like them other cats.

Might prolly be a weed plug or Coke runner had I made moves like some of my peers/relatives but I ain't built for that life and I realized that from young.

I never wanted to do it in the first place. I had a goal I wanted to reach but stopped short of it to avoid death and jail. Which is where everyone else who I knew ended up
