What marriage is REALLY about...... (long read)

The NBA is more popular because it was established in 1945 vs. the WNBA was established in 1997.

No, my beef with thecoli's philosophy of "Men Should Lead" is; We rile each other up about women not following, then, never backed it up with requirements and responsibilities.

We just stop at the part where we get to demand women follow.

nikkas conveniently forget the rules of equivalent exchange when the board is tilted to their favor . I come from a society where the traditional rules of marriage still stand and seen some women lose like a muhfukka. Stay-at-home women get a hard slap to the face when the husbands get home and the dinner's not ready...God bless them if they complain that the money the husband left for the groceries wasn't enough that week.
If they complain to their girlfriends and mention divorce, then the other women look at them like: " but what about the family? It's the most important thing!! You can't ruin it for the children like that. Just, try to talk to your husband again, don't rush out of the eternal bond that is marriage."

I'm no feminist, but, I can acknowledge that marriage in "the old days" "worked" mostly because women would be foolish to try to live, alone, in a world where you literally needed a man for a security, in life.
We abused and took advantage of them and we are at that fact they don't want to go back to that.





I do think women have gone too far to the left (or right--I wasn't trying to be political) to where they want to be men or have gotten to a point where they feel they don't "need" men.

We both need each other.

But, we both need to admit that there's no going back to the "old days". It is over. There's need to be a new culture of cooperation and compassion.

Anti-marriage brehs and brehettes are foolish. This world is run by married people. Yes, the men have the power, but, marriage is still a functional institution. The big problem; we're running marriages on emotions and "desire". The same desire that we are cursed to never fully achieve.

Everyone has a role. You can build activities off their role. A marriage is supposed to be for a lifetime so even after kids grow up, the parents will still have something to do. The community will not have men and women wandering around aimlessly. A man in his correct mind is always constructive whether it be inventing/building something or just getting friends to come over and have a cookout. The woman would follow the man's lead.

Ok i think i get it. Its about productivity? Getting the most done while alive and able?

That doesn't nullify the claim I made. It actually supports it.

A man's requirements to be a leader would be to provide for his family in a constructive manner. There are unlimited ways of doing this. Teach them skills, provide for them financially/emotionally, portray themselves as someone to be respected.

A man's responsibility in the context of family is the family period. If Johnny is not doing his work and having problems behaving then the man should be held responsible.

EDIT: At least I think we are talking about a man's responsibilities................

This is no way an encouragement to get married thread. I was just stating what I think the main purpose of gettting married was.

EDIT: As we all know the original concept is corrupted I just thought I share what the purpose of it was. Not what it is now.

They want you with the degree, the house, the car, the nice paying job

Back in the day you could have the roach infested apartment, entry level job, bus pass, going to school in the night and they'd be with you all the way..
Now IRA rare to find a chick like that.

Exactly my point women dont want to be builder. They want who is established. A established person is the only type of person that can be a leader.
