Look at one point some posters were wondering how Mass Appeal still turn out a profit, they haven’t had any big sellers since the start of the label and still dont.

They are very much important because the work they do for the culture and Hip hop but you can’t compare that to a label like Roc Nation who has some of the biggest musicians and sport stars in the world, you’re comparing a hundred millionaire company to one that is churning out a few millions at best.

I still have questions about Mass Appeals ability to spot new talent and create actual stars, even mid level ones, Jay has a far more solid CV when it comes to running successful labels, that might be because of who he surrounds himself with but that’s part of being a good businessman, Nas has known this as well with the moves he’s been making in the last few years.

These companies are doing 2 completely different things. Mass Appeal is extremely hip hop focused and more about preserving the art of it. Roc Nation is HUGE and just all around bigger than rap. They don’t have the same goals.
