Honestly, this is where "marriage" is and should be headed in the future. Monogamy is unnatural IMO. You look at the amount of "failed" marriages on account of "cheating" and chalk it up to people being...horrible when the truth the notion that you should only be with one sexual partner your whole life is a socially imposed standard, not a natural one. And it's definitely more of a patriarchal design in which men's self worth can be bolstered by fukking a large amount of women while simultaneously keeping other men from touching "his".

It's unsustainable...and while "open" relationships aren't for everybody, the reason why they wouldn't be at present in my opinion is because of the warped ideals that we've grown up with. A couple generations from now things will get even less patriarchal (the pendulum has to swing in the other direction) and more abstract for better and worse...monogamy is not going to be the jam.

Come on.

Y'all with these "natural" arguments. If we went with nature, people would be fighting for the smallest slights, shytting in the streets, and having orgies with pubescent teenagers. There are social norms for a reason.

Social norms also shift/evolve for a reason...usually because they don't work.

More often than not when I hear about people with open marriages, the guy gets all excited, then the women gets most of the action.

Close thread.

Reopen it... the writer is trying to justify his lack of action along with her selfishness through feminism.

Close thread.

Feeling completely disgusted, dude deep down knows that's not how it's supposed to be, but he's too powder to do anything about it.

Be a weak man brehs.

Dude trying to justify it on some "it takes a real man to let your wife blatantly disrespect and dog you out", this some HankHill/KnucklesRed weirdo shyt.

From my experiences most of these couples are ardent conservative Christians :manny::sas2:

I agree with you, but dude just sounds like he's into cuckolding though and trying to rationalize it to readers. I think there's a difference between open marriage "swinging" and just being "cuckolded". Dude just sounds like his thing is being emasculated by his wife.

I wouldn't be surprised if the type of men his wife dated were the complete opposite of him. I'm ok with sexual freedom, but people need to keep it 100. This dude ain't "winning", she is, she's getting the best of both worlds and he's getting well..."hot" stories. She's with him because it works.out for her.

Yeah this bytch stepping out with Rico Suave and shyt :mjlol:

Bottom line is a relationship..whatever kind it may be is about RELATING to that other person. People get so caught up in roles and expectations that they forget to communicate with each other like real people which is what causes the problem. Being able to be completely "naked", emotionally, spiritually, intellectually with somebody you plan to spend your life with, as a friend and as a lover is something traditional marriage doesn't usually afford because there are so many feelings you aren't supposed to have anymore, as if there is some sort of switch that turns off attraction or desire.

You hear the stereotypes of how everything changes as soon as you tie the knot or acquire the ball and chain...I study language, we use these terms for a reason. We like the idea of partnership and family, but what is it that really changes once you sign what basically amounts to a receipt for the other person? I feel like people often subconsciously begin to resist that loss of autonomy.
