i dont get the point OP trying to make. city limits are city limits and the FBI(which provides the official murder rates for each city) only counts the murders within those city limits. This is for EVERY city. if you do the murder rate for a METRO area(city limits and surrounding county) then those rates would decline for pretty much every city.

Their metro area gets counted when they do do crime stats. Our metro area is a completely different city. :mjlol:

What ghetto doesn’t look like that? I’m not acting like ghettos don’t exist, I’m saying don’t act like the city is one giant ghetto or act like the crime states make any sense. I grew up in the county and I’ve never seen a drug deal or carjacking in my life! There are no rundown homes. We are just as much the face of St. Louis.
Wrong. Literally no city counts their metro when doing crime statistics..it's always strictly city vs city

You’re judging an entire city by a ghetto slum? Chicago is just the Southside and LA is just Oakland?

This is exactly what I’m talking about.
I grew up in the county but yet if I say I’m from STL, people think it’s like this.
The county has some of the wealthiest suburbs in the Midwest. I never lived around crime or decaying houses. The downtown area is incredibly safe and beautiful. We one of the greatest Universities, Hospitals, Art Museums, etc. in the country. Does that sound like a 3rd world place to you?

I’ve been to the Southside of Chicago for a volunteer project and it was far more terrifying than anything I’ve seen in St. Louis. Where did you even grow up?
LA and Oakland are hours apart

Small city being in a large metropolitan area is not exclusive to St. Louis.
Nor is the biggest city being intertwined with the surrounding suburbs. In fact I'll say st Louis isn't even close to being number 1 in that regard

Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami are 4 cities off the top of my head where you really won't be able to tell if you're still in the main city or a suburb

St Louis isn't one

I agree since I travel to these two spots regularly.
