As a brotha from baltimore that got schooled at Morgan state, umd, and Hopkins I totally understand. There's a lot of educated black folks around 495 and 695. It's damn near the norm.

That said hearing black people talk about hunting is kinda wild to me :lupe:

When I think of nikkas in camouflage I usually think of the boot camp click :lupe:

Do nikkas from the south really be hunting like that? :lupe:
Bruh I've been getting into it. A lot of these hunters make a lot of bread quietly. They don't promote it to black people for a reason. Especially that big game Moose hunting up North. They make thousands off one kill.

Its not really about us being passive. First of all everything is more spaced out. Where I'm at, small towns are 35 miles minimum apart from each other. So you're driving a good 40 min to be apart of a "movement" that let's be honest won't change shyt.

Secondly the Black Church has a stronghold as much of the community is organized around it. We already know what the Southern Black Church preaches so I won't get into that...

I'm an up north nagga who's been a down south nagga for the past 8 years or so of my adult life, and the passivity of southern Blacks relative to Blacks from other regions always bothered me.

But you give a very truthful explanation for that perceived passivity. I can personally attest to the elements that which you describe, and the effect they have on the ability of the community to easily 'rally' or start movements.

I was just talking about this with my mom last week. She was born in 1955 and grew up in Madison county Florida and saw the integration thing from the eyes of a lil girl.

Anyways somehow she started talking about small black owned mom and pop shops that existed in her segregated town and how they slowly went out of business once the white owned businesses slowly starred "accepting" black customers.

Kinda broke my heart tbh

I'm from Florida too bruh and your momma told you the truth. My grandma and granddaddy's neighborhoods were self sustaining. It had everything from pre-k to agriculture. The neighborhood across the street and every black neighborhood in the area had it all.

Segregation really hurt us

Yeah hunting is common but it is more of an insider type of situation. Why? Because it's big business with the whole situation. Paying to hunt on private land, the game meat, and fur. Cac hunters love that game meat and working around the system on some moonshine shyt lol.

Had an uncle out in LA who had a connect to the hunting circle out there too

like other brehs already said. you can go weeks without seeing any white people outside of a random tourist that got lost here and there

had a total of 1 white kid in school until I spent my 10 grade year at a school outside of the inner city, prior to that I thought all those nerd/goth/jock/cheerleader stereotypes that are usually portrayed in white kids show on the disney channel n shyt were FAKE

first day of school I was walkin round like :dwillhuh::wtf::mindblown::russ:

transferred back to my shyt at the end of that year, shyt felt like I came back home to africa :blessed:

you only really HAVE to integrate with whites in most souther cities if you're in the downtown areas where tourist and the more upscale restaurants are :yeshrug: no reason for us to walk around mad at white people if they barely exist in our day to day realities, we a lil more self sufficient imo

It was the same way here. My mother grew up in Cherry Hill and a lot of it was farm land up until the 60s. That community was designed specifically for black folks coming home from WW2. Areas like Cherry Hill and Penn North were thriving communities until integration and middle class black moved out.
