after ether they thought Nas was the king

then that 150k first week with godson happened

dudes been fuming x100 ever since
:russ:

I think even Cam outperformed him that year with CHWM

Says a lot though, that beef was just a minor footnote in Jay's career, whilst that fanbase treats it as the crowning moment in the others career.

I remember when Wale started getting randomly hated on…then shortly thereafter he grew the annoying persona to match. Egg came before the chicken though.

Chance and Big Sean

Wale always came across as unlikeable outside the music but Chance and Sean don't really bother anyone so I don't get why people always attack them. It's not even about their music half the time. They seem like regular guys and I think a lot of people take shots at them because of that.

Cam didn't outperform Nas that year. Their albums did about the same numbers. This was with Cam having bigger commercial hits. God's Son would've been peak numbers for Cam.

God's Son debuted at #18 on the Billboard 200 chart with first week sales of 156,000 copies, ultimately peaking at number 12. It sold 630,000 copies in its 3 weeks within the Top 20 of the chart. It reached #1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and was certified Platinum in sales on January 14, 2003, by the RIAA.

Talking slick lol, A lot of MC's would kill for those numbers.

Calling the beef a minor footnote in Jay's career is very misleading. Jay has had to resort to doing publicity stunts and handing out free gifts like cellphones with each album release after the beef. As well as dropping a project every-time Nas dropped one. Not to mention the fake retirements to boost sales.

Jay fans expect of all the shots people throw at rappers Jay should be exempt lol. His so called 'Business Acumen' Is why they rate him highly the rap sounds been toilet water for a while. As he is a wave hopping social climbing fraud :hubie:

'Life starts where the Church ends' - Jay (empire state of mind - hanging with Gwenyth Paltrow for clout)

'These ain't songs, these is hymns 'cause I'm him It's the Psalm 151, this New Testament The book of Hov (The book of Hov)Jesus turned water to wine, for Hov, it just took a stove' - Jay(God did - hanging back with the popping dudes for clout)

Rinse, wash, Repeat. Dude got in the game through the brown paper bag and has maintained his position doing the same perks, incentives, ie. Angie Martinez d1ck riding and media representation from his team. He getting bread thanks to his Wife and what he eats dont make you sh1t. Stop this Vicariously sh1t.

Dudes a weak willed goof who loves the attention. When Jay starts getting comfortable enough to be who he is then perhaps he wont get so much hate.

But all real artists, hardworking black men and those with Afrocentric pride will continue to loathe him.

Shout out NFL we are done kneeling though :salute:
