nothing...they flooded/dominated the market w/ music and had an insanely successful run that wasn’t gonna be sustainable forever...if anything the same thing that helped them “hurt” them in the long run and that was oversaturation...but imo if they didn’t attack the market in the way that they did they wouldn’t have achieved such high success

I think if Banks stayed at the time of Beamer, Benz, or Bentley, kept the Em songs, and if 50 would have backed off the headphones, stayed respectful of Jimmy and Dre...things could have went way better for 50...especially if he was willing to work with and forgive the other former unit members

Maybe, but their untouchable run was over at that time. This was at the time the new generation was coming up. People were more interested watching Drake & J. Cole becoming superstars.

So 50 stole Ja Rules shine, clowned on him for making pop music....but stole his whole style....and then all of sudden G-unit wasnt "cool" anymore

WTF happened?

50's defense is that "every artist has their life cycle" and their time was up

But when you go back and look at the stuff put out after "Get Rich or Die Tryin"....not so much 50's albums, but the other stuff they put out was dope

Where did they f*** everything up at that if they could go back and re-do, they would?

50 didn’t steal Ja’s style at all

what really confuses me is why he didn't just throw that iconic g-unit pendant around some young stars & get out the way¿*
funny enough he had the opportunity to sign a lot of people who turned out to be stars but opted not to, that g unit pendant should be roc pendant status these days :mjcry:

I feel like Wayne, Ye, Ross, and them show how to...survive the times...maybe even Jadakiss, Fabolous, or Pusha T.

It's not always about being the most successful...but staying successful and relevant and outlasting.

G unit and 50 had way more potential than what actually occurred.

Yea G-Unit sold a ton of records, but lasting on top was kind of short lived. It happens to a lot of groups but not many can match up with guys like Wu-the Tang, Bone Thugs etc. and it’s not always about sales, it’s about making good music & longevity. A good example is Fat Joe, he never sold as much but he’s been around making hits for decades.

They became caricatures of themselves..:yeshrug:
50 brought a lot of toxicity to NY rap, and destroyed the unity and camaraderie that had existed and NYC never recovered. G Unit killed NYC rap :francis:
For all their trying to hog the limelight, they were very average musically and thus not sustainable over time.:manny:

To answer op. If 50 had kept making songs like Hate it or love it, hustlers ambition etc they would have lasted longer but he and interscope was always chasing in da club 2.0
