When you say "deal" and we get x amount of dollars do you mean just for signing we get that upfront or is that an advance for the albums that the label is gonna recoup at all costs and hold our royalties prisoner? I ain't with all that, if I need a loan I'll just go to my bank, my credit is A1. But if the paper is just for signing then give me number 6, I'd knock out them 3 albums in 3 weeks and put them bytches out yearly so it looks like I worked harder than I really did.

The money amount is your advance that's correct. If you have in-house/day one producers than you'd probably be able to pocket a good portion of it but then again I'm not really sure if it's given in one lump sum or as needed.
But if an album sells 200k you probably recouped a $2 million budget already

Under 5, I'd make something with great artistic merit. Once under 6 I'd be aiming to make hits and expand in a business sense while constantly remind people of how much of a classic the album I made under 5 was. I'd finish out the deal under 6 by pulling another classic out of the hat then graduating completely to the business side of the game.
Basically...pull a Jay-Z. He's not the GOAT Emcee to me personally but that nikka has had the GOAT rap career by far
