Its a well know fact that hittinig a baseball is the hardest thing to do is sports. In the big leagues, try to hit an 90+ mph pitch hard enough to get on base. Now, consider the fact the the ball is hard as hell and it hurts like hell when you get hit with it. I would have to say that baseball requires the most skill to play and have success. Look at Michael Jordan. He is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. He couldn't hit worth shyt and I love MJ. Deon Sanders was a nother great athlete who was just an average baseball player. Bo Jackson was as good of athlete as there is and although he had decent success in baseball, he didn't look natural at all.

Hitting in pro baseball is hard as hell, thats why having success 3 out of 10 times will make you rich. In basketball if you made 3 out of every 10 shots, you would not be playing on anyone's team. Baseball is easily the most difficult.

:wtf:

do you even watch soccer? they are NOT running for 45 minutes at all. Smart soccer is all about good ball movement and positioning. These dudes are NOT running around like that.
Don't get me wrong, it takes A LOT of endurance, but Boxing and Hockey are a lot more strenuous than soccer is.

As for skills though? Hockey has got to be up there. if not at the top.

No you definitely run for the majority of 45 minutes each half. Yes passing decreases the amount you have to do but you're taught to pass and move, you might see the ball move and think its over but that player is most of the time getting to the next open position as fast as possible. The best defenders are the ones who support the attack to so that means constantly coming up from the back to support the attack.

Soccer is the first sport that came to my mind. Boxing being #1 makes sense though

Dumbest. Argument. Ever.

Tell me about all of those great baseball players who came into the NFL and NBA and dominated.

I think its a combo of not enough violence and it being a slower paced sport with a lot of subtleties that Americans wont pick up unless they watch it more. Then you mention baseball as being neither, but that shyt is just ingrained in our national consciousness.

Football is a slow paced sport for instance, but its violent as hell and that draws people. Basketball is not as violent but its fast. Hockey is a combo of both.

It's low scoring, but it really isn't slow paced.

This is complete ignorant bullshyt.

That's not bullshyt bruh. I got a homey whose like 6'4 260 and he was a complete doofus in high school. Couldn't even walk without falling over himself. Tried sports but just didn't have the mental fortitude for it. But a couple of years ago he decided to take up boxing and get in a gym. Well two years later he looks like his footwork has improved greatly and he's actually kind of decent in the ring. Like they say power takes u a long way. Now i no it's no doubt that u have to have some skill to succeed in boxing, but if you are born with natural power and size then u are halfway there. In tennis and baseball u can be as big and as strong as u want but if ur hand eye ain't there then its a wrap.

When you see those QB's throw long passes and hit it right on point it's impressive, but i can't help but think "ok mate, now do it with your foot:beli:"

baseball itself isn't hard, BUT being a pitcher is.

1) Pitcher - strike zone/mound-to-home plate distance/speed/spin on pitches - that's why they give them 4 days off.
2) Hockey - doing too much at once, skate, stick, tiny @ss puck, hitting
3) Basketball - at its essence, almost same skills as hockey, of course of the years people have been able to compensate with athleticism over skill
4) Tennis - is skilled but it's only because you add the racket. Other than that, we've all played handball.

The rest of baseball isn't hard. There's too much idle time playing the outfield so you are simply running down scenarios in your head, over and over again
Boxing isn't hard. Different people have different styles, some have quick hands, some hit hard, some are flat footed, some dance.
Football is the easiest. No matter the athleticism, body type or skill, there's a position for you. That's why it's the most universally played.

Paul Scholes, Passing (NEW 2012 HD) - YouTube

:whew:

:wow: you gotta remember though that qb's have to make those passes with at least 4 260lbs+ monsters trying to take their heads off. Takes a crazy amount of concentration

yeah thats true tho. the ability to execute technique under extreme amounts of pressure is being underrated as a skill in itself

If I wanted to play the race card to prove my point, which I don't think I'd have to, just consider this. African American Athletes (I am one) are considered to be successful mainly because of their athletic prowess. How many of us are playing big league baseball? Not many. Its not just because many of african american's consider baseball boring or consider basketball to be more accessible. It is because most young, innercity african american athletes do not get exposed to baseball early enough to truly develop and manifest those skills... and I am not going to even talk about the skill it takes to successfully play the infield.
