sonically bone thugs were ahead of their time. I was listening to Kendrick song one day and I could hear the bone thug influence.
I also remember bone thugs performing at some award and Kendrick rapping along in the audience word for word.

whats funny is Kendrick's main influence from the bone camp is tony tone.

I think we forget how big Bone was. They had two albums top Billboard's chart. Not just rap, but the whole chart and another that was #5. Wu Tang had one hit that mark. Bone won a lot of awards too. If anything in '95/'96/'97 they and Tupac were pretty much the biggest artists in rap at the time. I hadn't even thought about it until I was watching their Unsung. Then I was like damn, these dudes were like the Spinners of the golden era.

as for the million dollar album, bone is in talks to do one of those as well. but I don't see why this was brought up anyway, seeing that these types of things aren't representative of the people. Is this even a real debate in the US brehs? I swear every six months there's a Bone vs Wu thread here. For what it's worth, they were never that big in Europe. Don't know one Bone stan, never heard them at parties, not even when I was listening to HH radios. Only time I ever heard a Bone song otherwise than when I was listening to the album was yeah Crossroads on MTV, that's it. Meanwhile Wu joints still pop up here and there, there were articles about Wu last album in mainstream media, Meth and them touring, you still see random people with Wu merchandise, etc

I see what you're saying but the question was raised as to why Bone didn't get to the point Wu-tang is NOW. How big each group was in relation to each other when they both were selling millions of albums is irrelevant in this conversation and that's what you keep bringing up. Throughout the years Wu expanded their brand and cemented themselves as larger cultural icons. And you continue to downplay their set position at shows. Wu garner A level status on basically every show they perform at. Bone were consistently given set positions, at Wu headlined shows, before C level hip hop artists. Facts is just facts.
