Surprised nobody mentioned that early 2000s charger team, to me they had a whip on every side of the ball, were arguably the best team in the league on paper and always found a way to disappoint in the playoffs.

I think they win a couple of super bowls if they could not do dumb shyt to lose to the pats and colts yearly :yeshrug:

Not to mention that 14-0 Auburn team with 4 first round picks and the AP still couldnt give them a split national title. That was some bullshyt.
Man that 2004 team had everything going for it in terms of narratives. Had a terrible year beforehand where they were overranke, got exposed by USC who ended up making it in 2004 of course. They played a more difficult schedule than either OU or USC I forgot which. We supposedly laid claim to the title of RBU, and having our two elite RBs vs Bush would’ve been a good way to settle that. It’s unfortunate, especially due to how OU got slapped around

Nah they never had the juice like that. Their best chance making the super bowl was when they made it to the AFC championship game and LT was standing around on the sidelines.

To a lesser extent, you can argue the Texas Rangers of '10s. They definitely should've won in '11 vs STL. They got smacked up by the Giants in '10.
*sigh*.

Yeah SF pitching dominated the 2010 World Series. But 2011 still haunts me. You had two different chances to win the World Series in the same game. :mjcry:

The 90s Braves fits this thread perfectly.
90s Cowboys. Probably could have been the patriots before the patriots were the patriots. But he wasn’t staying long anyway. Anybody should know this if they read boys will be boys.

Detroit
2004-2008 "Goin to Work" Pistons

-First they draft Darko, which was a waste, any other player picked there helps them
-2005 Finals, Robert Horry shot in Game 5 was a killer, then Game 7 went down to the wire but Duncan took over
-Larry Brown leaves after 2 Finals appearances, hire Flip Saunders (RIP)
-Get to the ECF the next 3 years, but lose in 6 in all 3 series. Especially 2007, LeBron goes insane in Game 5
