Miami Heat had potential, couldve won all 4 or atleast threepeat. :francis:

The Cavs, Bron and Kyrie would be heading towards the finals ready to three peat THIS YEAR if GS never signed fukking KD

Bron lost two chances to three peat due to circumstances :francis:

WUT? In what world is that Dallas team better than the heat? Now... If you want to say they were dominated by Dirk that's a different story. That Dallas team might be one of the worst championship teams ever.

By what logic are they one of the worst champs ever? In the 73 games Dirk played that season, they won at a rate that projected to 61 wins on the season. The league leader that season had 62. That would’ve had them tied for best record in the western conference. As is they still won 57. That was a fantastic team that simply didn’t have a long run together since so many guys were old or free agents. They dominated the western conference during the playoffs too, sweeping the semifinals against the defending champs and winning the conference finals in 5. Right off the top of my head comparing other champs in the last 20 years, they’d have easily ran through the 2002-2004 champs, 2006 heat, probably beat the 2010 lakers, and would have been a great matchup with the and 2014 spurs given how they were constructed.

2010s Auburn. 3 out of 4 top 9 spots going into November fukked by significant injuries

2 out those 3 years our rivals UGA and LSU were down and we had one dimensional Alabama offenses. All ruined cause injuries.

90’s/early 2000’s Braves.

We was up 2-0 to them damn Yankees in the 99 World Series, and blew the lead in game 3. At the very least, they should’ve had 2.

All them damn NL East championships in a row and barely anything to fuggin show for it. Pisses me off
You're thinking of '96 when the Braves came into Yankee Stadium and took the first two games of the WS heading back home. Shouts to Jim Leyritz!!!

In '99, Atlanta got swept.

To a lesser extent, you can argue the Texas Rangers of '10s. They definitely should've won in '11 vs STL. They got smacked up by the Giants in '10.

Thunder hard Durant, Westbrook and Hardin on the same squad. They would have been what the GS Warriors are now

Not to mention that 14-0 Auburn team with 4 first round picks and the AP still couldnt give them a split national title. That was some bullshyt.

90s bulls easily. Lot of these teams mentioned didn’t even get to their respective league title series, or only went once. Bulls had the obvious pedigree, bookended 2 years with three peats on both sides, and Jordan retired with plenty of gas in the tank for more runs post 98

only one they really "left on the table" though was the 1st one.The other teams were just better.
yeah that first one is probably the one that hurts the most, the others they got smacked.

90's Bulls after MJ retired the first time. They still won 50 plus games in the couple seasons he was mostly absent for,so who's to say that with MJ leading the way they don't at least compete for a title, and if he doesn't retire the second time, who's to say they don't 4 peat?

2011 Heat if Lebron doesn't shrink down in the fourth qtr, they win that series

2013 spurs, if any number of things happen differently for the spurs in game 6,they are champs.

10's thunder,i think had kd/harden/westbrook stuck together they probably have a title by now.

2016-17 falcons, how do you blow a 25 point lead with a little over a qtr to go?

90's braves, were the second best team of the decade but won 1 ring.
00's lakers, i think if shaq and kobe don't beef, they get maybe 1 more ring.

The Great Green North
Allow me to cover NY:

1980s:
  • Post '86 Mets - Enough talent to build a dyasty, enough temptation to watch it all crumble before it's ever constructed.

1990s:
  • Pat Riley/ Van Gundy Knicks - No explanation necessary. :mjcry:
  • Post 1990 NY Rangers - Squandered an excellent opportunity in 1992, and had they kept Messier, Amonte, Zubov, & Beukeboom for another 5 years after the '94 Cup (plus the Gretzky sigining in 1996), they probably win another 2 Cups by '97. Should have won 4, only won 1.
  • 1990-1995 Bills - No explanation necessary.
  • Mid to late 1990s Sabres - Y'all really can't build something better around Dominik Hasek? Fa real?:martin:
  • The Bill ParJets - 30 minutes away from a SB with a 10 point lead, and Same Ol' Jets juju out duels The 2 Bills. Curtis, you're a HOFer and a great one, but Jets needed Adrian Murrel rhat afternoon. Following season, Jets are SB favorites, Vinny goes down in game 1, season implodes. And in true Jets faahion, they rally behind Ray Lucas, are arguably the NFL's hottest team in December, and miss the playoffs by a game. That team with Lucas could have beaten the Titans and played the Rams in the SB had they got in. They were on fire.
2000s:
  • Mid 2000s Jets - In 2002, they find themselves a franchise QB. In 2004, with a 6-1 record, he falls on his armpit in Buffalo. The end.
  • Honorable Mention: 2008 NY Giants - My money was on them repeating as SB champs, and they looked like it for 12 weeks, but an all time stupid decision + an insecure waistband put an end to that idea faster than a speeding bullet.
