I was one of those who said heading in to the season he was the best player...but I also said I expected Bron to overtake him...though it wouldnt be easy. Kawhi has not looked anything like he looked in the playoffs last year so what happened? I expect him to round in to form. On one hand he looks different, on the other hand, he is not that far off from form once he gets right.

He could have "load management" in Toronto and no one would have said a peep.

He looking funny when them LA lights hit. Media all over that.

But for real tho Kawhi even said himself these games are just practice for him. Showtime in the playoffs like he always do.

:yeshrug: His confidence high and he got his feet up right now. Him and Giannis on a collision course come June - he gon let em have the regular season. Get back to me on Christmas day. That Clippers - Lakers game gon tell you a lil bit

Why hasn’t he “coasted” before? I was told opening night that the real stars show up for ‘big games’. He needed a rest first time against Giannis and 119-91 last night. What does that mean?

Raptors being a good regular season team has been a thing for years now, let’s see what they do this time without him in the playoffs
Them being a good regular team is a big reason why they were able to maintain 2nd seed and have HCA over the Warriors with Kawhi missing 20+ games. Clippers don’t have that type of team, if Kawhi misses games, they’re most likely losing. That makes a big difference at the end.

Why are we glorifying players not trying in the regular season?

Maybe Kawhi is better in the playoffs because he rests through the regular season :stopitslime:

His teams can get generous playoff spots without him. Then he goes hard for 20 games, and we supposed to skip over all that groundwork he didnt lay :stopitslime:

I really don't understand why he went to the Clippers. Yea they'll be a good team but he can't miss the games he needs to miss and still end up with a decent seed. Maybe he feels it doesn't matter since the path to the finals likely goes through LA anyway? But if he was on the Raptors right now he'd be playing limited minutes, missing multiple games, and managing to truly rest up for a playoff push. All while maintaining the 1 or 2 seed in the east.
