For a debut album it had some great beats, clever lines, good rapping, and good humor. The production was overall great and started giving more shine to the "anti-mainstream" rappers or what some would consider the "backpack" rappers (never liked that label).

If you have to ask then maybe it's not for you. :yeshrug:

He got aspirations bigger than rap now, but I never thought he'd ever end up with a Kardashian. Jay + Beyonce is a real power couple. Kanye and Kim get money too, but they on some fukk shyt struggle power.

he did himself in by overdoing the theme, which made it corny as fukk. those skits are cringeworthy now

look at this part of the tracklist :what:

14. "School Spirit (skit 1)"
15. "School Spirit"
16. "School Spirit (skit 2)"
17. "Lil Jimmy (skit)"

:camby:

4 mics. i fukked with it heavy when it dropped but i dont think it aged well at all
true the skits are dumb buuuuuuuut, School Spirit is one of the best tracks on the album and aged really well. At in my opinion.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a classic but saying it's not one of the best albums from that year is just stupid

reasonable doubt is a worse album than college dropout. and i think rd is classic so think about that
lol, when ppl wonder why I can't take Kanye stans serious, I direct you to this statement.

Seriously, read this statement. I think he really means it too, which makes it that much more ridiculous.

The thing with Kanye is, ppl feel the need to give him classic albums. His best 2 albums are his first 2, so naturally they gain that "classic" tag. I seen someone tell another poster that maybe they weren't old enough to know the impact it had. I'm sorry, but what? CD didn't have any noticeable impact then or now. It was a good album, with some really good tracks. Now, that SHOULD be good enough, but of course, it isn't with Kanye's overzealous ass stanbase.

Whatever the case, I like CD just fine, and it, along with LR are my favorite Kanye albums. Both are much better than the later albums he dropped, in which he tries so hard to convice us that he's this supposed musical "genius" he's trying so hard to become.

Honestly, this album was even overrated back then. Like, is this even as good as post 9th Wonder Little Brother albums?

Jesus Walks sucks too. As does Breathe In Breathe out. as does get Em High. As does Workout Plan. I never want to hear all falls down or through the wire again in my life. Looking at the tracklist now I barely even recall half of these goofy ass songs.

I think I may still legit like the song Evidence *Co produced
