Women love them.

Men hate , and envy them because their women love them. Had them 5 years and had two altercations were grown men pulled out my hair like a bytch and a handful at that.

Getting your hair done and having it neat and visible roots is a god like feeling.

Godbody aura , done once or twice a month depends.

Employers may discriminate but put yourself in position to employ and empower yourself and it’s not to much of a big deal.

All in all I wouldn’t want any other style of hair

Been growing mine 7 years now, get them interlocked every 8 - 12 months. Never stressed the roots so my hairline intact. Never had them Colored but the ends are bleach brown from the sun.

I look like black royalty :blessed:

Only con I can think of is nikkas grabbing them in a fight :stopitslime:

Anyone ever tried this one, note it's the wax not gel. I retwist myself but this seemed to have no holding effect at all.

I stay away from that mango and lime range
I’ve used Murray’s before

My best experience was with a line called BetterLocs

I mainly just use coconut and peppermint oil, retwist maybe twice a year using oil

This was last year

Wow your hair is really nice and long, how long you been growing your locs? Great color and shine to em. Seem like I'm a long ways away until I even grow half your length.

I might have to go back to using coconut oil, does it have to be raw/organic? My hair gets a dull dry look after a while. I don't use anything cept one of the products I posted before at retwist (which lately is like once every 2-3 months, some areas nearly 2 inches of new growth not yet locked :martin:). Is that the only time you apply the oils, at retwist?
Areas on the top and sides of my head feel like the gone never fully loc/mature, gotdamn :francis:

Your hair is looking good, nice thickness
Tbh most people with decent hair once their locs reach to the shoulders the growth rate speeds up and they don’t really stop

Mine are 8 years old

Raw coconut oil is good

Edit I use oil frequently about 3/4 a week and wash weekly

Cons
Scalp could be itchy sometimes
If your roots grow too much it will fukk up your hair and it'll hurt when you finally retwist it
Heavy on your head/face
hair gets in your view
lint/dirt gets harder to get off

Pro
Dreads are awesome as fukk. Never regret having them. It's good dedication on your hygiene and it makes you stand out

Hard to wash, c00ns telling you to cut it, build up, coins telling you to cut it, jobs making up excuses not to hire you, hard to wash and c00ns and more c00ns. Had mine from 2009-2011.

Also it took the whole day to retwist the new growth. After awhile you get sick of it and just free form.
