I remember how when I was around 7 8 or 9, he was trying to teach us not to answer the phone when we were home alone one week. A few days passed and we had forgotten about that lesson. He stepped outside and called the house one day, but I could see him calling the house. The window and door were still open and I could see him and he could see me. I thought he needed something so I answered. He got mad.

You could just be standing eating a plate of chicken and this guy would blindside you and unexpectly hit you with a belt on your leg causing you to drop your chicken. This For irrelavent stuff that happened months ago. He found things to give you beatings for. It's like all he knew how to do in the beggining as parenting as the bad cop was to deliver beatings.

It all came to a stop when one day I got seriously pissed off and had a sudden and uncontrollable fit of rage when he tried that crap again. I grabbed the belt and pulled it from him. after that he was just like . I was like . Inside I was like waiting for something to happen. But nothing happened. He just said I was disrespectful and walked away and told all of my aunt's and uncles that all of his kids were disrespectful but they all knew what he was like and told him to tone that crap down.

He never hit us afterwards. It took a while but we eventually got on much much better terms.

He is a loner who keeps himself secluded from the family. I rarely see him. Maybe every 3-5 years we would see each other. I used to can't stand the fact that he never try to be the leader of the home like a man and build a solid connection with his kids. It used to frustrate me all the time. Over the years, I got over it because I realized that my father wasn't going to mature to be a better father. Some of you posters are blessed to have great fathers that did everything what a real man should do for his children.
