Hip hop just won't take you serious if your claim to fame is making up a dance.

and todays "hits" aernt contrived :beli: or formulamatic
Every song released by a record label is contrived and formulaic on some level, but fukk that...that shyt was a lot more simplistic, even by mainstream rap standards.

'Do the (make something up)'
'Do the (make something up)'

:skip:

Garbage. Glad it's over.

the late 80s/early 90s dance songs were hot though :beli: :childplease:

Bell Biv DeVoe - Poison (1990) - YouTube

"Do the Stanky Leg" & all those songs like that were corny as shyt :snoop:

Plus, its not that just because these were dance music hiphop songs or whatever, its also the quality of the song. That BBD poison was a great song. Good lyrics, good beat, you can relate to what they saying "never trust a big butt and smile" etc they followed up with other good songs that flowed with their style as an artist ("i thought it was me", "do me baby" etc.) Song with styles, substance and they wont be forgotten. They still play "poison", "feels good", "dont be cruel" etc in clubs and gets people on the dance floor because they just sounded that good and will be timeless recordings. Not forgettable like pop lock and drop it.

Them old school new jack rnb songs mostly got respect from hip hop artists while these hiphop dance songs from 2005 dont even get props from hiphop artists.

Well apparently its a bad thing for black folk to have a good time and enjoy OUR music. I was in college from 2002-2006 and that music provided the sound track to my party experience. You have to be a lame, a cac, or a virgin to not have enjoyed bytches shaking that ass to Get Low in the club. Good times good times

fukk outta here.. That's ALL Black folks know how to do...Which is one of the main reasons we're so fukked up now..

We can shake our ass and have a good time in our sleep...That's easy...But after the party is over then what?

I don't hate that disco rap exists (I like to get drunk, act silly and have fun too), I hate that it consumed the culture....

nikka shut yo ass up. Dont try to classify all black folk under the same umbrella. I know plenty of black folk who partied hard in college but now have sucesful careers and are excellent parents. Yall focus so much on the negativity in the black community that yall never recognize the good. I swear its hard being a GOOD black man or woman in this country because u are automatically lumped in with these nikkas who aint doing shyt wih themslves. That music aint had shyt to with why aint shyt nikkas aint shyt
