For rap I would say 92-02 I mean if you take off every rapper that came out in that 10 year span your top 5 looking real diff even top 10

I mean jay nas big pac jada cam em pun L Wayne mobb deep wu tang Ras kass the roots the fugees outkast 3 6 bone thugs

Plus the r&b from that era boys 2 men ginuwine Jodeci usher Jon b dru hill musiq soul child tyrese

And that’s just to keep it short find another 10 year span that has that much talent across the board besides 60s-70s Motown era

70’s was probably huge peak of music in general. Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Prince got started in the late 70’s, Earth Wind and Fire, Marvin Gaye

Voted jazz. We were still creating new sub genres that were more difficult for cacs to copy.

70s if I had to pick a decade
90s second

70-90s GOAT era in AA music not even close. Not to take anything from the originators but everything blended together so perfectly around that time jazz bled into funk which bled into hip hop all that bled into R&B but you still had artist that could sang...someone create a time machine :mjcry:

Soul era easily. Correction on your poll: R&B was started in the 1940s.
