What was the best of the Second Tier Black Comedy Sitcoms

Does everyone always forget that A Different World existed though?

That's in my top-3 with Cosby and Fresh Prince, yet hardly anyone ever be mentioning it. Is it just a different category cause it wasn't a family-centered show?

A different world is top tier imo

How many black shows were flawless from beginning to end though?

None of them. But Family Matters wasn't bad for just a season or two...that 95-98 run was PUTRID, and eliminates it from top tier contention

I kind of want to include Steve Harvey, Wayans, and Jamie Foxx in top tier but Wayans didn’t really find a groove until its second season, Jamie Foxx was hit or miss. Sometimes they had gut busting episodes and sometimes it felt like the writers took the day off and let Jamie run on stupid. Steve Harvey fell off in its last season

I have to go with Girlfriends, the writing was consistently above average.
The Bernie Mac show & Everybody Hates Chris each had a run, but both shows got redundant pretty quickly.

i picked jamie cause it was most like martin.. yea the role players had memorable performances.. but like martin, it was carried on the main character just winging it.. you put someone else in that role and it completely changes. now i don't think Jamie was anywhere close to Martin but that's what i'm going on

Wife and Kids had moments, but was cringe later on

The Coli overrates Wayan's Bro like shyt, that show was goofy AF - not in a good way. Pops was the highlight
