I feel like they go in trends. Like you had pure psychology in the 80s, brawling in 99, heavy submissions/suplexes from 03-05, spotfests now:youngsabo:, etc.

For me it was New Gen. That Bret/Shawn/Owen/Razor/Bulldog generation:ahh: those main events from 94-97 age like fine wine. Perfect mix of brawling, psychology, wrestling, and story. Not to mention so many firsts.

  • 91-93 WCW Watts years (sure Bill Watts was a miserable ass, but he put that promotion in check by giving us wrasslin:wow:)
  • 96-97 WWF Pre Attitude Era (felt more attitude than 98-01 tbh, plus the matches felt more compelling than the later years of that era)

Even lex luger was havin dope matches in that time of wcw

:wow:
most of those guys
Austin foley vader road warriors luger pillman dustin rhodes
They say wcw stole wwf guys
Most former wcw guys were main eventing wwf years later

Put me on game to those WCW matches breh. I’ve gone back and seen a few things but that’s an era I’ve always wanted to explore

Watch Starrcade 92. Whole card is fire, but in particular Sting vs Vader and a tag title match with Shane Douglas and Ricky Steamboat vs Barry Windham and Brian Pillman

Even has a Chono vs Muta match

I always noticed they have the Rock in alot of handicap matches while Austin would just do a promo or face a low brow jobber.

Nobody gave about the fukking matches..nyggas never get that. Workrate didnt matter..it was about being great..workrate was a big deal when Eddie became champion in 2004ish.
