Late 80s NWA with Flair and the Horsemen, Road Warriors, Sting, Steamboat, Lugar, Doom, Muta, Terry Funk, Skyscrapers, Steiners, Rock N Roll Express, Midnight Express. shyt looked like a real fight out there. Great mix of styles and ridiculous tag team wrestling. Only ruined by so many non-finishes or fake finishes.

SD Six shytted ALL over HHH’s Reign of Terror (and I’m a HHH fan) to the point it got sabotaged for being too good :wow:

2000 WWF/E

1997 had

Bret vs HBK long build
Sting vs Hogan long build
ECW’s quest to get on PPV and then Barely Legal 1997
Taker/Kane/Bearer saga

We’re incredibly lucky to have witnessed 1997 as a whole in pro wrestling

I was born in the GOAT Pro Wrestling year of 1997 :bryan:

I agree about what you said about SD though, it was so good and so much better than Raw that they stepped in and sabotaged it, happens every time SD is good.

I feel like they go in trends. Like you had pure psychology in the 80s, brawling in 99, heavy submissions/suplexes from 03-05, spotfests now:youngsabo:, etc.

For me it was New Gen. That Bret/Shawn/Owen/Razor/Bulldog generation:ahh: those main events from 94-97 age like fine wine. Perfect mix of brawling, psychology, wrestling, and story. Not to mention so many firsts.

Recently watched the HBK/Bret Ironman Match from Mania 12... and it was better now than it was the first time I saw it.

That early Ruthless Aggression Era :wow:

I encourage anyone to go back and watch Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit at the 2003 Royal Rumble, CLASSIC :whew:. That whole SmackDown Six era was some shyt we may never see again.
GOAT era in my opinion when considering overall product

The 718
New Generation to about mid-00s was my favorite era of WWF/E's wrestling style.

People talk about WWE's in ring product being better today but I agree and disagree at the same time. On average, we get way more solid matches but everybody wrestles the same and that whole spot-monkey/finisher fest stuff just doesn't interest me.

I'll even give a S/O to WWE 2013, seem like all the guys were just putting out great quality weekly
