had some bright spots but mad fukking overrated overall. only album that i could actually somewhat enjoy front to back was eminem show

he had a lot of great classic features during that period though (forgot about dre, renegade, patiently waiting for example)

Was 10 years old when MMLP dropped and ever since then was a huge fan. Thought he was funny and entertaining. Plus he was a really dope lyricist. To me he was the ultimate MC/entertainer.

After encore I stopped being a fan. It's crazy how much of a letdown that album was. Mind you this was a highly anticipated album. This was after the Eminem show, 8 Mile, winning an Oscar, the 50 Cent/G-Unit wave, D12 world, the source/benzino beef. The whole rap world was anticipating this. Em was GOAT status from 2002 up until encore dropped. Ever since then I never had the same love or anticipation for him. MMLP2 was the last album I really liked from him, but it's still not like before.

Legendary features, but couldn't get into his albums. His technical skill was amazing but I feel like his music only connected with white people.

Was 11 when ''My name is'' dropped n like homie a few posts above said found him funny...

When he dropped MMLP I became a fan, as a 12 year old I found the project dark gritty n dope as fukk

Between that Dres 2001 n the Up N Smoke tour, I think everybody was fukkin with him back then

8 Mile, went with all my lil homies to watch that shyt, was amazed

The eminem show wasnt as dope to me,n then he just became to mainstream n clowinsh for me to listen to

I still admired him cuz of his lyrical ability since I was writin n wanted to become a rapper around that age

One of the best, but whites bring him in every fukking discussion so he's gotten a ton of backlash these past couple of years. It doesn't help that his catalog has a bunch of corny songs that really shouldn't haven't left the studio. But, SSLP still plays well and is one of the few albums he has that doesn't sound dated. Deep down, I think he wanted to go back to the introspective/horrorcore shyt with Relapse, but gave up midway. Really wish he gave it a shot.
