Working at a movie theater. At first I was like... free movies? :jawalrus:

Then I had to be an usher tear the tickets for the people going to see the movie or clean the theaters after the movie was over. :shaq2:

shyt was horrible, standing up all day and tearing tickets is probably the most boring shyt I've ever done and that shyt went by slow as fukk.

Then having to clean the theaters after something like The Dark Knight came out was :scusthov:

Around the same time I learned most people were a$$holes.

this. i worked in the projection area though... shyt was borin as hell. you ALL ALONE in a dark ass room for hours :noah: and aint no "sittin around and watchin movies" cuz you constantly runnin back and forth and makin sure you startin the RIGHT movie, on time, without any errors. i remember this white guy got fired cuz he was supposed to start the lil kid movie cars one saturday mornin and he accidentally threaded up some horror movie :laff: and you stay way later than everybody else. thursdays i'd be at work til 3 in the mornin sometimes and have to turn around wake up and catch my bus for school at 6:30 :why:

Tell them stories breh :shaq:
Haha, at the time I didn't partake, but they treated the illegal immigrants like shyt. They couldn't speak English so when they heard the bell to go on break, the Mexicans would hold they hands up like they was breaking a pencil or twig showing that it's "break" time. So when it came time, they would go up to someone doing this gester asking was it break time. But the people who spoke English would just shake they heads like  and tell them to get back to work. Then they would turn around and go on break and let the Mexicans work thru their break.

Haha, Well, like I said I didn't partake on that one. I just walked in on someone getting some head in a stall. I wasn't on my break so I had to come right back to my station. Knowing what I know now though, I would have been in like Flint but I was young and didn't know any better.

Comcast Call center was the worst for me, their like slave drivers and want you to push the product more then help people. Good benefits though, I was done after 6 mo. of that BS.

Once I had an interview at a call center during undergrad, but I didn't realize it was a call center until I got there and looked at a brochure (I thought it was a regular office job).

I read through the brochure and told the receptionist I'm out of here.

Same here. I think it should be mandated that everyone work at least one customer service job while they are young. There would be a lot less a$$holes.
For sure. People working those jobs are just trying to get by.

Yep. My boy ended up in the Comcast Tech Support Dept for a little while after college (hey, he graduated right in the middle of the recession) and he said it was horrible. But they paid 13.50/hr w/benefits, so I guess that's better than unemployment. :yeshrug:

I've worked call center tech support at a much smaller ISP (part time in college), but it wasn't too bad all things considered.

Aircraft Cleaner for this company in JFK

worst shyt ever, hard labor work for 8.00 an hr :noah:

man i worked there for a week, got my first check and wanted to cry :noah::noah:

Cleaning the outside of a plane with a rag on a stick is the dumbest shyt ever. My back hurt like crazy and it was so awkward holding this long pole with water/chemicals dripping on you.

my last day there they had us cleaning a HUGE cargo plane.
It was 6 of us that day 3 black 3 mexicans. After we finished the outside they tried to make us clean the inside.

freight_interior.jpg

Man we went in there, shyt was HOT AS fukk we could barely breathe. They wanted us to clean the floors (you see that shyt?) and the walls. One of the mexicans was supposed to help us this a$$hole was chilling in the cockpit drinking water. Me n 1 of the other new guys was supposed to clean the floors we looked like :dwillhuh: fukk this we quit :laff:

so glad i didnt do that dumb shyt

I lasted almost a year myself, but got fired for locking the cats out that monitor the calls out my computer so they couldn't see my screen

and yeah it was some slave shyt. can't be off the phone without writing in a book why you're off. I mean they made it hard as hell to take a shyt. and those back to back to back to back calls for like 6 hours straight got real old. and lets not start on the customers who were a$$holes 99% of the time. plus the unreal metrics they want u to hit when it comes to sales goals and shyt. mind you, we weren't a center that took sales calls. we took trouble calls which meant everyone was pissed and NOT even trying to buy more shyt from them.

getting medical and free cable was piff. but I couldn't take advantage cuz I worked 3p-12a with split off days mon and thu. I even bought the nba season ticket cuz I get it 1/2 price that year, and didn't watch but like 5 games the entire season due to my shytty hours.

During college (around '08)

I didn't really need it (pops was helpin' my out and financial aid + military grant $$$ :takedat:)

Minimal wage and it was hella (physical) hard work

I worked one night and quit to take extra duty

In hindsight; I shouldn't have quit

I would have extra money and would have been around video games all day

btw, this was like in 03 working at comcast. I was making like $12 an hour :noah:

and that wasn't shyt cuz my job previous to that was paying me like $18 an hour. and I was making like $12 in college at my internship. plus I had an attitude that I was too good for that job cuz I had a college degree and what not. but I had to take it cuz I needed the bread and had a newborn back then I had to take care of.

when I was working at comcast, I was also substitute teaching during the day, so I had ZERO days off. but I was getting money at least at the time.

a nikka wasn't even grossing $1000 a check off that nonsense :noah:
