Dipset had great music there's no denying that but gunit jumped on their wave and stole the scene from them. Had cam all FURIOUS calling up hot 97. He prolly think about that every night wishing he never made that call he been taking L after L ever since.

"It's gunna b a hot summer":mjlol:

Max b >>>>> dipset
Gunit >>>>>> dipset
Dblock >>>>> dipset

If cam could've kept shyt together maybe NY would still have a name for itself today. Them gunit dipset dblock days were incredible

Na I'm talking strictly music, g units catalogue doesn't hold a candle to dipsets or dblocks. No comparison at all.

Dipset and dblock held NY down with piff all throughout that decade while g unit was busy catering to suburban white kids, putting out pop garbage, and signing trash rappers from around the country for what reason I have no fukking idea.

Aside from banks mixtape catalogue g unit is trash, I'm sorry. It hurt me to admit it because I had high hopes for them at first because they from queens and all that but I just gotta be honest.

Both made good music. G Unit was more mainstream, and made some good records, but Dipset arguably made better music. Also, Dipset was more influential than the unit. Examples? Cam had nikkas tryna rock Pink. Terms such as no homo, u mad, which are still used to this day. In 06, Jim had the whole rockstar look goin on, and had alotta rappers and fans tryna dress like him, such as Weezy. Lyriclly, Banks is better than every nikka who was apart of Dipset. The dips had a huge focus on "swag"(fukk that word), while g unit focused more on the music and the grittiness of their music.

Also, the whole heatmakers/dipset sound was dope.

took ALL the words out my mouth :blessed:

Nah Im Talkin Bout and Real Quick both got bigger receptions than Dipshyts and Salute, and those were just random freestyles:sas2:, bbbut Dipset was a movement and G Unit wasnt, bbbut Dipset has a core fanbase and G Unit only had bandwagoners:camby:

The revisionist history in this thread is hilarious, G Unit had the streets from 02 up until around the Massacre dropped, Dipset had the streets as well but it wasnt on G Units level up until that point, when D Block and Game started dropping countless disses is when G Unit started to lose its fanbase in the hood and Dipset became more popular
