It's always existed but not to the point it is today. Maybe it's just cause communication is so much easier, but we never have people giving out death threats and harassing each other. I've never seen people actively try to harm the reputation of a product. People take this shyt very seriously.

I'm 24 but I never really had any serious arguments over game consoles but in the 9th grade nikkas was talking shyt about my Gamecube .... Nikkas was getting on my Animal Crossing game Other than that there never was(at least around me) any serious arguments.

Breh... People don't know, I defended Gamecube through thick and thin. I rode with that shyt from day 1 all the way until dudes started buying them when they dropped the price down to $99.

I dunno about that era, I'm talking 80's and 90's. I graduated in '95. The Sega vs Nintendo beef was serious. The "Mortal Kombat" shyt was serious, the "Madden" shyt was serious.

This message board console beefing is to me because there's no way in hell it would go on for this long in real life back then. Someone would've gotten punched in the face.

things died down during the ps2 era because that was total dominance. Kind of like how no one was asking who the trillest country in europe was from 1935-1940.

i remember being scared to play NBA Jam at the wrong time in the arcades. Didn't have one in my home town but when we went out of town to the the popular mall I always made my way to the arcade and that shyt was serious in the height of NBA Jam. The pros didn't want any casual gamers playing it and they stood behind you putting pressure on you forcing you not to pay for the next quarter

i wasnt talking about competition between companies...they should be going at each other...its all about $$$ to them...

what im talking about is as consumers and fans of video games...

ive had all the big consoles starting back with the atari 2600...i dont remember guys arguing about games at all..we didnt care what console it was on..we had them all anyway...all we wanted was to have fun and play the games....

cats in here calling each other fakkits...and all the back and forth.... because you like the xbox and the next man likes the playstation is rediculous (sp?) to me...

i owned the 360 and the ps3 last gen...and when the games warrant it...i will own the xbox one and the ps4...you nikkas can keep arguing all you want...

back then people wanted to get every console.
it wasn't no fan loyalty to a brand.
Starting with nintendo i had every console and handheld up until the xbox 360 came out. i skipped that and stuck with playstation from then on mostly because i grew out of alot the shooters and hack n slash game and mostly ride with rpgs and sports now.

There were no console wars. At most we'd debate which game looked better on a system but nobody stanned a console. We wanted to play good games and if you had a genesis and I had NES, come through and we'll play.
