What would the U.S. look like if we implemented everyone's 2020 plans?

Don't other countries have all that? It's just revolutionary in this country.
No country larger than California(in population and land mass) has all those things.
We should try these policies at the state level first... If I remember correctly California has a larger and richer economy by itself than nearly all the countries currently implementing these types of policies.
Let’s remove the barriers, and let progressive states go at it alone.

I know social dynamics are not considered when pushing the progressive agenda but I must mention America is unique in this area and faces challenges socially no one else faces making side by side comparisons dubious.

People never talk about Trump plans for 2020, outside of rampant capitalism :heh:
His platform will probably consist of lots of securing our borders and some lowest unemployment numbers for women and poc rhetoric. If he’s smart he will acquire a CBO report on the job loss from implementing the green new deal and paint Dems(who aren’t even all on board) as wanting to sink the economy and destroy America...
The average American can easily be swayed by “they want to guarantee jobs, a degree and healthcare then let the world in with open borders” sensationalism.
“UBI for the world!!!!”:lolbron:

:lolbron:@ Dems who think Americans know better and it’s a slam dunk in 2020

So pull a Thanos and wipe out half of America's population?

Or we better off following China's blueprint and having bullet trains for cheap?

Or even better, having Medicare 4 All and employers have more disposable income to pay higher wages for workers? :sas1:

interesting point :ehh: we always tout how california is the 5th biggest economy in the world, but they tried to pass healthcare for all and paying for it was laughable

what is this bullshyt about paying for it, japans debt is through the roof and nothing happened, its all fear mongering, we print money. MMT

and no CEOS dont need to be making that much, nobody works 400 times another person, no matter what bullshyt entrepeneur rhetoric says otherwise.

I also hate this notion of oh capitalists wont do "innovation" unless we give them tons of money, but, to quote george carlin, the rich wont do anything if you dont give them money but the problem with the poor is we give them too much money and they arent motivated. its all bullshyt

i also dont buy that we cant do these programs cause we have more people. we also have more tax revenue by having more people. all these are just excuses. besides in the case of healthcare, we spend more under this system, so if anything why isnt there fear mongering about staying in this trash system? no instead they actively want to go pre obama care which is even worse

I'd guess the best case scenarios is theyre all as successful as people hope they will be for a while. Maybe a few decades, even.
Then they'll go to shyt like most government programs tend to.

do they or is that just a right wing talking point? I mean SS, medicare, medicaid are still holding up pretty well. Not saying certain gov programs dont do poorly although in most cases its due to underfunding or the program itself being a band aid and not a solution but those instances are not proof the gov is bad at running things, the post office another example. the idea private sector is always better than public is wrong, let capitalists make consumer bullshyt like sneakers and shyt in a million different colors that serve the same function, when it comes to serious things i dont want some fat cat making a profit off misery

You...put a lot of words in my mouth there.
All I’ll say is, that “solution” you’re looking for doesn’t exist. Thinking it does, and that Republicans are the only thing standing in the way of it isn’t going to get you anywhere.
