What would the U.S. look like if we implemented everyone's 2020 plans?

We'd have a much happier country, that's for sure.

Went to Toronto recently and just hitting the streets, people are a lot happier, you can see it on the streets....even with all of the issues they have.
I feel that every time I'm in Vancouver or BC in general.

interesting point :ehh: we always tout how california is the 5th biggest economy in the world, but they tried to pass healthcare for all and paying for it was laughable
Because they have to pay federal taxes (which fund most of the broke, Republican state's social programs) on top of their state ones. It's not an even comparison.

In this leftist paradise, we have the following:
  • M4A - single payer healthcare insurance (Sanders)
  • Federal Jobs Guarantee (Sanders)
  • Living Wage Guarantee - all entry level jobs and above guarantee at least a living wage (Sanders)
  • Free College - get your bachelor's for free (Sanders)
  • Universal Pre-K and Daycare - free if below federal poverty level, up to 7% of income if above (Warren)

i want bernie to come out with a hard "a middle class family will have to pay this" number, when it comes to this argument. hes kinda straying away from that :skip:

For all that? 25% federal income tax right off the top for everybody under 250k. 30% for under 450k. 35% for everyone else over. Social Security taxable income going to 250k. Medicare tax jumping to 7% for everyone for sure.

if we ended up with some resemblance of a social democracy such as the OP. a lotta Marxists would be looking funny in the light :mjpls:

  1. I don't know why that would be
  2. Most people think social democracy is socialism... is communism. So I doubt anyone would notice.

it's more of a jab of these people who use leftist politics as a lifestyle and not a call to action

they talk the good game of revolution, but ain't and don't do shyt but share memes and shyt talk about leftist actually on the ground, doing the work cause it doesn't line up with their precious theory

meanwhile if we did by some chance obtain some better social safety nets, they'd drop Marxism fast.

this isn't just a leftist thing either, it happens on the far-right as well.
