All he needs is a great SB run and a ring. He will be a HOFer if he does that.

Dude has always had the numbers, just needs the hardware.

And he is not a choker either.

But why does he need the hardware when other QB's didnt?

He needs 2 super bowl wins.

His stigma of choking is much too great to overcome at this point, people remember him failing at every critical moment. Those type of people don't get into the HOF. He is the butt of a joke

This.

One SB title will be called a fluke. Two will solidify his standing. His playoff woes are not solely on him but the perception is that it is on him. The first title will stir the pot and the second will cement his standing. I always had high hopes for Tony but he hasn't came through when it matters most.

Because while his stats are really good, they aren't great. Its not like he has a 40TD - 3 INT year, or a 5k passing year.

How are his stats not great

:patrice: Because statistically, he's amazing . They did a study of his numbers/wins in his first 100 starts compared to great QB's and it's very comparable

I mean a he has a career passer rating of 96, TD to Interception ratio of 197-97(+100), 28,000 yards, 65%Completion percentage, and 3 Pro Bowls

And mind you, he isn't done yet. Those numbers will pill up. He's one of the most efficient QB's of all time

I like Tony but when was the last time he was in the conversation as the best QB of any given season? How about even top 3?

I think he's been fringe top 5 a few years but That's not really fair though. Tony Romo's prime(2007-on) coincides with 4 of the top 15 best QB's ever(Peyton/Rodgers/Brady/Beees) all in their primes.

It's hard to be top 3 when with that type of competetion

Yeah, I agree with you. But thats where the perception comes in. His efficiency is irrelevant if he can't compete with the greats of his own generation.

which QBs? He has good stats but hasn't really done anything else.

I do think it's funny though how some folk (LE) bash him for not winning games in the playoffs as if his team didn't crumble in several of those games. Football is the ultimate team sport, yet folk keep bringing up QB records like they're pitchers or something.
