If it was an efficiency thing, then yeah I can understand the staying behind if you both felt that's why the work wasn't complete.

i get paid for 8 hours 7-3:15pm. today i got sent to work with the company hero who is known for working past work time and working through lunch breaks to be a hero and make himself look good. he is not a bad dude personally but his work habits suck and ive learned that about him working with him a few times. i do construction

i got sent out 50 miles from my home to work with him at a hospital. 3:15 rolls around and im like dude lets go and he wont budge....he told me if we didnt finish my boss would be pissed when i told him that someone is coming back to finish im not doing work for free. i told him we are 50 miles out and im not fukking around lets go


i just left his ass there at 3:15 and left....he probably stayed at least another 30 minutes and i doubt he will call in the time.

why do people want to be heros? should i have stayed or was i right sticking to my union mandated time? i wasnt going to get OT out of it. i dont give these fukkers anything

Maybe this is his way of making himself stand out to his bosses. Like, "I'm willing to stay here until I die". He might love his work...or he doesn't want to go home. He may have a wife that drives him up the wall or....he doesn't have a home. I worked with one dude he slept in his car in a parking lot at work. He told the bosses his situation and they let him park his car in the lot, he still had to find a shower, but he did that for about two months then got an apartment. He worked hard as hell because...man...he didn't have anywhere to go.

it depends if he was doing something that he is accountable for and doesnt need your assistance why would you stay? to watch him? fukk him. im a work horse but i do a lot of shyt im held accountable and my boss rarely if ever has to say why wasnt this done or what happened yesterday or last night. i may have to clarify things from time to time. but i had a co worker who consistently didnt have shyt done. no notes from groups or stuff. we were always having to back track and keep up extra slack basically over her shoulder so when she didnt do anything we could cover our ass. my time clock shows punches in at 2am and out at 5am or shutting down at 5am and back at 8am. im not some ragdoll worker tryin to get shine we are a small operation and i just do what i gotta do to keep things flowin

Ya'll hate people like that...but they the ones making the most $$$ cause they get noticed for working hard and staying late while ya'll be like "fukk this shyt" and be sliding down the gotdam dinosaur neck like you Fred fukkin Flintstone. I always been like that cat. I go in early, stay late to finish up if I need to. Got no problem putting in some extra hours on the weekend if need. Prob why I'm now in management at my firm and making the kind of money that I make while ya'll's piddly ass lil checks be looking like .
