when I made that recommendation 2 years ago I had a gtx 660. iirc you bought yours after the 760 had came out. but I stand by what I said as the 660 is still a decent card

For those who are on the bleeding edge and knew of all the options, what purpose did Blu-Ray really fulfill?

The Wii and XBOX 360 dominated the 7th generation using DVD
PC games ship on DVD
It didn't convince the people who watch movies to buy Blu-Ray over DVD according to the numbers.

The 8th generation included it because the cost of adding a dvd drive or a blu-ray drive when speaking in bulk probably only amounts to a couple of cents difference. Might as well throw it in.

Blu-Rays for a few years now include the digital versions to entice people to buy the disc...I wonder why. It was an unnecessary format for those in the know and didn't convince the general public to adopt it over DVD.
