I feel the current MC battle culture is hip hop in its purest form.:ohlawd:

The best do freestyle and have impromptu rebuttals tho

How the fukc you freestyle

with no beat

?

The whole beauty of freestyling is that the beat adds pressure. Time pressure. The pressure to be on beat. The pressure of having to put an actual good SOUNDING rhyme together off the top to the beat. Right there on the spot.

Freestyling with no beat is like setting up a trick shot in pool. You can slowly place everything cause you're under no time pressure

Real freestyling is like pulling off ill trick shots DURING THE GAME. Without being able to set the balls exactly and with the pressure of the other player maybe swooping in and running the rest of the rack if you miss.

That's why its dope when people do it well. Its like being a clutch basketball player (to the beat) vs being a Harlem Globetrotter (no beat).

New stuff is basically a poetry slam for angry autistics.

Went to a battle a couple of months ago, and they have some good rhymes, but man that is a rabbit hole of cringy shyt.

Plus you have to watch and know other battles and puns to keep up with all that bullshyt. Nobody got time for that.

how and they can not rap on key or on beat.
then do not use instrumentals to cover it up when it is obvious.

you nikkaz give passes because you want a pass.

now try and tell me i am wrong.
then i will ask you why all those battle rappers want to be me and around me.

y'all believe any culture theif made bullshyt.

Some of y'all sound like people that judge hiphop because all you know is a couple songs so I gotta tell you about the countless rappers that DON't fall into your stereotypes.

I still watch most battles with name battlers on URL, KOTD, etc...but battle rap hit a huge plateau in the last 5 years or so. I still enjoy it though.

Enlighten me, what do most battle rappers talk about when battling?
